Windows 10 logo stuck after brand new installation

    Hi tenforums,

I wonder if someone here could help me.
I assembled a new pc, but I have trouble installing windows 10. After installing it with usb stick, the system correctly reboots, but it gets stucked at the screen with windows/mobo manifacturer logo: the spinning circle dots stop spinning :C.

I have tried lot of things, but the most strange is that Ubuntu 18 run without any issue.

I recently managed to print the boot log and I found this:
    Code:
    BOOTLOG_NOT_LOADED \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\amdfendr.sys
    BOOTLOG_NOT_LOADED \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\dxgkrnl.sys
It seems related to gpu, or not? I also found out with msinfo32 tool (run from prompt of installation usb drive) that the gpu is among the pcie peripherals with some errors cause: driver not installed. I do not know if this is normal at first intall.

    What I tried until now:
    • download again the iso (from azure, from windows main website, from rufus)
    • Tried using the windows media creation tool but 1) It stucks at like 50% and 2) I would like to install the edu version, while windows tool force me to download and burn the usb with the Pro version (the one actually installed). I also tried using the windows media tool to download & burn the usb stick
    • Burn the iso on a different usb drive, with rufus and with copy and paste after mounting it
    • Install with/without licence key the Educational N version and not N version
    • Install in the unformatted SSD, formatted SSD to ntfs with 2 partitions
    • Update mobo bios to last version
    • Use different usb ports,
    • Only Monitor (displayport through graphic card), wired keyboard and mouse connected, plus wifi card (attached to mobo, can't unplug it). I also unplug the HDD while installing
    • Start in safe mode, but it says something like : "Installation can not be completed while in safe mode"
    • Disable secure boot from bios
    • Put RAM speed to auto and to 3600MHz (the actual velocity)
    • Resetting the pc from the Windows troubleshoot menu that comes after 3 reset : "There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made"
    • Format the usb drive to gpt and mbr
    • Check SSD disk for defects, installing Windows on another disk ( the mechanic one, seagate barracuda 1TB)
    • Check RAM for defects, found nothing (memtest64+ from ubuntu live usb 3 passes, and windows memory test in standard mobe from windows live usb; the extended mode stucks at 21% for several hours)
    • Trying installing older windows 10 (19H version, november 2019)
    • Mobo bios updated
    • Run some stress test on ubuntu. for gpu, UNIGINE superposition benchmark seems in line with similar spec systems.

    My system:
    • CPU : AMD Ryzen 3600xt
    • GPU : AMD Radeon 5600XT
    • MOBO : MSI 550M PRO-VDH-WIFI
    • RAM : 2x8gb corsair vengeance lpx 3600mhz (removed one recently to see if it was a problem of faulty stick)
    • SSD : Samsung 860 Evo 500Gb
    • HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (unplugged while trying to solve this issue)

    Thanks for any help

    Both
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    And
    Code:
    D:\Windows\System32\sfc /scannow
(I am not sure if the first check the usb or the partition with installed windows)

find no errors. No integrity violation (free translation, I am not sure about exact English output)

    Hi,

I already followed that steps. I tried creating the usb stick for installation burning the iso with rufus, copying and pasting the image, and using windows installation tool.
I tried both using the activation key and continue without inserting it, for different kind of windows (home, edu, edu N...)

I can not get through the first reboot, so no cortana say hello and no way for activating with the key after the install

There is no Rufus in the links posted.

    Please follow the steps here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
    Download Windows 10 ISO File
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

These methods work for Windows 10 pro and home.

    Thanks for the help but:
This link let me download windows iso (from a not windows pc) or windows media creation tool (from a windows pc). I tried both

This explain how to download the iso. I already tried the first 3 options. 4 is for windows "insiders", 5 and 6 are other method to download iso, should I try also them?

This explains how to put iso in the usb stick. I already tried the first 2 (2nd is about rufus). 3rd is for old BIOS, probably does not apply to me. Should I try the 4th and 5th options?

    Hello @tory,

Boot into Safe Mode. This will only load basic OS drivers etc [ no third-party drivers ]. Copy the .bat file to a USB, and then copy it to the Desktop and Run it. It will show if there are any corrupt system drivers.

    > How to Start Windows 10 into Safe Mode or Normal Mode

Check for ANY Problem Device Errors

[1] Click on this TenForums link => Batch Scripts / Programs.
[2] Goto the heading Find ANY Problem Devices . . .
[3] Download and Run the .bat file named Find_ANY_Problem_Devices.bat.

    If there are NO ERRORS:

You will receive the message NO PROBLEM DEVICES WERE FOUND!, and NO text file is created on the Desktop.

    If there are ERRORS:

There will be a Prob_Devices.txt file created on the Desktop.

    EITHER . . .

Copy & Paste the results into your post using the [CODE] [/ CODE] tags [ see below ].

    • Open Prob_Devices.txt in Notepad.
    • Press the Ctrl + A keys together.
    • Press the Ctrl + C keys together.
    • In your post, click the Hashtag icon #.
    • Click INSIDE the [CODE] [/ CODE] tags and Press the Ctrl + V keys together.

In your post it will look like this . . .

    Code:
    <<< Results >>>

    OR . . .

Upload the Prob_Devices.txt file => How to Upload and Post Screenshots and Files at Ten Forums.

Hi Paul Black, thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, I can not access to safe mode, because of error: "Installation can not be completed while in safe mode".
But I managed to run in someway the script from the prompt of the recovery usb (the one used to install windows). I had to change some commands but it should have run as expected.

    The output is:
    Code:
    NO PROBLEM DEVICES WERE FOUND!
There was an error with a not installed perhiperals (free translation, and I do not remember exactly what it said)
but I am not sure if some problems with the text filtering occured because of running the bat from the stick.

However, the msinfo has printed the report. In the msinfo gui (I managed to run this through usb stick), I notice only this that could be interesting "peripherals with problems", sorry it is in italian, I have put some translation:
    Code:
[Periferiche con problemi] (="peripherals with problems")

Periferica	ID periferica PNP	Codice errore

(= "reinstall drivers for this dispositive")
Non disponibile	USB\VID_8087&PID_0AA7\6&52CBD2F&0&13	I driver del dispositivo non sono installati.
I attach the complete msinfo report, (the prob_device file was empy)

    Hello @tory,

     BSOD - Initial Data Collection

This is an English based site. Please post ALL replies, information, and output, in English.

I ran the output through Google Translate and this is what it said . . .

    Code:
Peripherals with problems] (= "peripherals with problems")

Device PNP device ID Error code
Not available (= "not available") ACPI \ AMDIF030 \ 0 The device drivers are not installed.
    Video controller (VGA compatible) PCI \ VEN_1002 & DEV_731F & SUBSYS_51221849 & REV_CA \ 6 & 7D6670A & 0 & 00000019 The device drivers are not installed (= "peripheral drivers are not installed").
    PCI Network Controller \ VEN_8086 & DEV_24FB & SUBSYS_21108086 & REV_10 \ 6 & 2318EDD2 & 0 & 0040020A The device drivers are not installed.
    PCI Encryption / Decryption Controller PCI \ VEN_1022 & DEV_1486 & SUBSYS_7C951462 & REV_00 \ 4 & 2997322B & 0 & 0141 The device drivers are not installed.
    PCI System Management Bus Controller \ VEN_1022 & DEV_790B & SUBSYS_7C951462 & REV_61 \ 3 & 11583659 & 0 & A0 The device drivers are not installed.
    PCI Device PCI \ VEN_1022 & DEV_148A & SUBSYS_7C951462 & REV_00 \ 4 & A8E2F7A & 0 & 0039 The device drivers are not installed.
    PCI Device PCI \ VEN_1022 & DEV_1485 & SUBSYS_7C951462 & REV_00 \ 4 & 2997322B & 0 & 0041 The device drivers are not installed.
    PCI Ethernet Controller \ VEN_10EC & DEV_8168 & SUBSYS_7C951462 & REV_15 \ 6 & 39B98C8 & 0 & 0048020A Reinstall the drivers for this device. (= "reinstall drivers for this device")
    Unavailable USB \ VID_8087 & PID_0AA7 \ 6 & 52CBD2F & 0 & 13 The device drivers are not installed.

So it certainly appears that system drivers were NOT installed during the installation process.

    I hope this helps.
