    There are similar reports in
[W10] Kernel Power 41 - Unexpected instant shutdown - TenForums
Kernel Power 41 - PC Issues - TenForums

I do not know if they will help you.
If they don't then I suggest including their links in your BSOD thread to avoid somebody else coming along and suggesting you read them.

    Best of luck,

If this is the problem plaguing my computer, I won't need to rebuild the damn thing. I certainly don't want to replace it with Win11 when Win12 is already in the wings.

Before posting to a different part of the forum...

    a) To my knowledge, hibernate disappeared from the Microsoft interface years ago (I ALWAYS turned it off. Now I can't even find it.)

However, in deja-vous fashion, I looked it up and was provided with this.
    Kernel Power Error-developers-top.jpg
    Kernel Power Error-developers-bottom.jpg

    ..."hibernate is not even mentioned"

Regarding some of the links you sent: Before, and during the posting of this thread, I repeatedly searched (WHICH I ALWAYS DO) the forums for words relating to the thread ("fast startup", etc.). Because the posts/hits that appeared were 2-4 years old. and because the directions some of them posted were exactly the same as those I quoted in my initial post to this thread, I followed forum procedure and re-posted the subject.

Therefore, the primary problem of this thread is still: How do I disable "Fast Startup" (not necessarily 'How do I solve a Kernel Power Error'). Is there any way we can settle the question: Does Win10 support "Fast Startup"...Does "Fast Startup" still exist on Windows 10? Can I get answers to these questions before I advance this thread to another forum?

Also: What's the difference between main heading and sub heading Kernel Power Error-bsod.jpg BSOD Crashes and Debugging?

OhOh! My Kernel Power error is not a Blue Screen Of Death error.

With Hibernation disabled, Fast start is also disabled.
Hibernation is disabled on your computer and therefore Fast startup is also disabled on your computer.
If you wanted to learn about Hibernation, you could study Enable or Disable Hibernate - TenForumsTutorials

With Hibernation disabled, the Power options, Choose what the power buttons do looks like yours - only the Sleep & Lock checkboxes
So the primary problem of this thread does not exist - Fast startup is already disabled.

Thank You. The tutorial is a very useful review--and expertly presented. However, my NVIDIA tech support person and other Internet links had me reviewing the Event Viewer AND (also highly important) Reliability Monitor. (Another source Ultimate guide: how to check Windows 10 crash logs - Super Easy ) We went through a number of iterations on this.

    Not according to
Hibernation is disabled on your computer and therefore Fast startup is also disabled on your computer.
If you wanted to learn about Hibernation, you could study Enable or Disable Hibernate - TenForumsTutorials
Following the directions on that tutorial:
    Kernel Power Error-hib1.jpg
Question: Having executed a CLI command to enable or disable something, what is the command to know that has happened--in this case, to confirm Hibernation is actually OFF
    and to confirm
    I went to the registry
    Kernel Power Error-hib2.jpg
    Which indicates Hibernation is ON

I'm not suprised, I didn't do a restart. that is probably the reason the Registry says Hibernation is still on.

So I turned it off in the Registry Kernel Power Error-hiboff-registry.jpg

But the one thing I still can't do is to follow the tutorial when it says to double check by bringing up the system settings because I have no system settings window that relates at all to Fast Startup or Hibernation.

What is the CLI command that tells me if Hibernation is on or off?
What is the CLI command that tells me if Fast Start is on or off?

Only if I can get confirmation from the computer that these are off can I know they are off.

    Now to restart the computer...

    - - - Updated - - -

I restarted the computer (and was greeted with a helpful MS screen that, among other things, told me they would help me enable OneDrive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Encountered the screen that asked if I wanted the Registry Editor to make changes to my device [Yes]

    Finished the Restart.
Brought up the Registry Editor to confirm I had actually succeeded in turning Hibernation OFF.

    and.....................................................

    Kernel Power Error-hibon.jpg

THE REGISTRY EDITOR DEFAULTED (???) TO TURNING HIBERNATION ON!!!

The only conclusions I can come to are:
    1. Hibernation exists
    2. Hibernation is ON
    3. Something is wrong with the tutorial or I'm not able to follow its directions
    4. One cannot turn hibernation off through (advanced) CLI
    5. One cannot turn Hibernation off through the Registry
    6. AND VERY DEFINITELY that because Hibernation is on, and has always been on...
    7. FAST STARTUP IS NOT DISABLED and the Kernel Power problem has not been addressed.

    - - - Updated - - -

Finally, CONFIRMED: Hibernation has been disabled (by Command Line) !
    Kernel Power Error-eraser2.jpg

Now I'll just have to wait to see if the computer goes down for no good reason...
(and I'm trusting that if Hibernation is OFF that Fast Start has been disabled)
(Remember, what we know is that if Fast Start is OFF that Hibernation has been disabled)

NOW to wait and see if the computer restarts on its own.

No, it's the other way around.
If Hibernation is disabled, Fast start is off.
Fast start can be off without disabling Hibernation.
