    Kernel Power Error

Seems I have a Kernel Power Error.
    Solving it requires I

    Disable Windows 10 fast startup.

The instructions for doing that are:
    1) Open Power Options:
Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
Type in "Power Options" and select it from the search results. Brings up Settings/Power & sleep
    2) Choose what the power buttons do:
In the Power Options window, click on "Choose what the power buttons do" on the left sidebar. "Choose what the power buttons do" does not exist
    3) Change settings that are currently unavailable:
You might see a note at the top of the window indicating that some settings are currently unavailable. To make changes, click on the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link. No note of that sort exists. There is no "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link.
    4. Disable Fast Startup:
Scroll down to the "Shutdown settings" section. There is no "Shutdown settings" section.
Uncheck the box next to "Turn on fast startup (recommended)". There is no "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" checkbox.
    5. Save Changes:
Once you've unchecked the "Turn on fast startup" option, click the "Save changes" button at the bottom of the window. No "Save changes" button
    6. Restart Your Computer: You'll need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Are there alternate instructions for a currently up to date Win10?

    Thanks

I do not know what you are asking because your description does not seem to relate to your title.
    What are your fault symptoms?
An entry in Event viewer alone is not sufficient to warrant waking up let alone spending time fault-finding about.

As for your request about instructions-
#1 You can get to the right place quickly by right-clicking on the power icon in the SysTray [the "Notn area"] and selecting Power options.
#2+ And then you will be in the right-place to follow the instructions you keep referring to. They were written from Power options not from Settings, System, Power & sleep. That's why you cannot see what you need.

I don't know where you found those instructions.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

What fault symptoms have you experienced?

If you want to turn off Fast start then I suggest using this well thought out procedure:-
Turn Fast Startup On or Off - TenForumsTutorials
You can get into Power options quicker than the tutorial step 1 says by right-clicking on the SysTray Power icon & selecting Power options.

Windows computer shut down without warning...

    This has been going on for a L O N G time.

I was concerned the problem was either CPU or GPU based (it was NOT heat related). I contacted NVIDIA tech support and got very involved help--he had me bring up the Event Viewer and Reliability Monitor, and send him all relevant logs... Determined the CPU and GPU were not at fault... Independently I consulted https://www.supereasy.com/how-to-vie...in-windows-10/ It was quite an education for me.

p.s. Power Options brings up exactly the same Settings/ Power & sleep window as I quoted in Step 1.
    Brings up Settings/Power & sleep

On the left - Settings, System, Power & sleep
On the right - Control panel, Power options

Another way to get to Power options is to run this shortcut
    powercfg.cpl

Once you've got Fast start turned off and seen if the problem remains, I suggest you start a new thread called something like Computer shuts down without warning. This has been going on for a long time.
Make this new thread in the BSOD & crashes section and post the test results they call for in that section - Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions .

    Best of luck,

I'm still not able to turn off "Fast Startup". Until I can do that I can't follow your advice by posting a new topic.

It looks exactly as it does in the screen shot. " Lock Show in account picture menu" is the furthermost down "power setting".

If this is the problem plaguing my computer, I won't need to rebuild the damn thing. I certainly don't want to replace it with Win11 when Win12 is already in the wings.

I've been checking my notes thinking, "I've never seen this before.", and I could not find any info about it.
But I've never disabled Hibernation before.
    - With Hibernation disabled, Fast start is also disabled.
    - With Hibernation disabled, the Power options, Choose what the power buttons do looks like yours - only the Sleep & Lock checkboxes [assuming the display driver supports Sleep as almost all do].

So, you might as well move on from here and post about your main problem in the BSOD forum section [see post #6 above].
