Lost information from an unsaved Wordpad window - any way to restore?

I had some important information typed into an open Wordpad window. I left my computer on over night and it appears to have done a Windows update of its own accord and consequently restarted itself. When I got to the computer in the morning I was met by the screen that tells you the date and time and when I entered windows, my two Firefox windows were still open with all their tabs, but in place of the two Wordpad windows (one saved, one unsaved) were just two blank Wordpad windows.

I tried pressing CTRL+Z, but nothing is restored.

Is there any way I can restore what was typed into the unsaved window? I reeeeeally need it.

    Oh dear.

These MIGHT help, although as the computer Restarted I am doubtful . . .

    > HOW TO RECOVER UNSAVED WORD PAD FILE
    > How to Recover Unsaved or Deleted Wordpad Document
    > How to Recover WordPad Document on Windows 11/10/8.1/8

I REALLY do hope these will help !

Thjere are valid ways to control this default behaviour.

Could you refer me to a tutorial? I'd like to tell Windows to never restart without my consent, not even with a "Windows will restart in x time unless you intervene"

Windwos Update Auto-restart Warning Notifications Schedule - Configure in Windows 10
Windows Update - Choose When to Restart in Windows 10
Windows Update Restart Notifications - Turn On or Off in Windows 10
Windows Update - Schedule a Restart Time in Windows 10
Windows Update - Specify Deadlines for Automatic Updates and Restarts in Windows 10

    Added after dalchina's reminder [below]

I took that list from my downloaded copy of the tutorial index. I filtered it by restart then copied the entries that also mentioned Windows update.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

    Simply
    - click Tutorials at the top
    - type 'update restart' in the search box (enter)

And of course there's Active Hours.

Below the main text of most tutorials is a list of related tutorials.
