Windows 10: How do I restore text that changed to question marks on wordpad file
How do I restore text that changed to question marks on wordpad file
Unless you made a backup I don't think you can.
@golaiet2 Where did this file come from? what format is the file? What language was it written in? Has it ever displayed correctly, on yours or another machine?
Question marks are usually a sign that you don't have the font required to display the characters, possibly they are multi-part UTF-8 or Unicode characters.
This is a wordpad file I typed in Hebrew and because I saved it on ANSI it made all the question marks, I tried replacing the coding option to UTF-8 and all the other options but it wont work, my only option as Iv read is to search for a temp file that contains the original Hebrew text before I saved it, since I did not restart or reboot my pc yet, how do I do that ?
The Window Icon, first icon on the taskbar is no longer graphical. Nothing happens when I left click on it. A right click brings up a long list including Programs and Features, Power Options, Event Viewer, System, etc.. I do not recall changing...
My puter updated itself & came back with a black clock on a black taskbar :sarc:
I have looked everywhere for a solution, but nothing works.
Anyone know how to fix it?
Thank you please!
I can't drag and drop text/images from IE 11 to WordPad or other programs. When I try to do this the cursor changes to a black or red circle with a line in it. Drag and dropping in file explorer still works.
