Please do not use any program, even if it is from the manufacturerYou're lucky with device manager :)Then I tried with HP Support Assistant which reports all drivers are up to date.
Eventually I went to device manager and managed to update the Broadcom driver from there.
Please answer my question so I can provide better support for you, currently I cannot check myself because I have no idea what laptop model you have.
What is the support page?
Just to confirm, this is your laptop HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j190nz Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) | HP® Customer Support
?
I'm wondering where HP assistant gets the driver from.
Please try to install the Broadcom wireless LAN driver from HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More | HP® Customer Support
directly.
According to the specs, this machine has a half card BT / 802.11
Wireless Connectivity: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) and Bluetooth 4.0 combo (Miracast compatible)

I think you want this driver
BT rls notes: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp7150...0/sp71995.html
BT direct dl: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71995.exe
NOT this driver:
Dual band rls notes: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp7200...0/sp72009.html
Dual band direct dl: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72001-72500/sp72009.exe
Maybe you need both - not sure, but I think the Dual band driver is for a machine with different HW
Side question - how does the machine behave WITHOUT the torrex UWP app?
Sorry for the delay in responding but when I tried updating the Broadcom driver it said the installed driver is a newer version. I forced the installation from my laptop specific HP drivers site and lost all wifi connections. After trying to install, reinstall and creating new connections etc.. (3 hours of work) I connected the laptop to an Ethernet cable to get the internet back. So my laptop became a desktop.
I went to the HP site and re-installed ALL the drivers and got wifi connection back. I attach here the Dump file as of a minute ago.
In answer to your question the laptop performs well and is stable without Torrex. But then I went down the support road with Torrex with no resolution. I came to you eventually because last Friday I bought another laptop (Lenovo 13") with win 10 and Torrex runs smoothly with no BSOD.
So the problem must be with the drivers of the HP with Win 10.
@Slartybart, you're a little fast than me on the question if the system runs fine without Torrex :)
@zaki494, if the drivers are the cause, normally speaking you would experience the same problem when trying other things like playing/downloading a game with steam or browsing the net too.
More likely would this be a setting issue or compatibility issue
