    Hi there
    @Cliff S

I think you missed your vocation -- you should be in some school / institution somewhere teaching "hacking 101" or whatever --I'm sure CIA / FSA would pay you an absolute fortune. I'm always amazed at what you come up with !!! Well done .

Anyway have a good day -- off to pub to watch some UK Premier league footy (here we get the 15.00 games --blocked in UK strangely enough) and plenty of Beers.

    Cheers

The thinking is that if they showed the games at 15:00 no one would bother going to a live footy match. Stupid if you ask me.

It's because it requires a cleaning rules update which is not yet included in Ccleaner.

However see this thread and read to the bottom.

    MS Edge Chromium and CCleaner

    Then check out this post:

    Latest CCleaner Version Released
Actually that doesn't detect Edge 79.0.309.68

I did manage to add it to HDcleaner though:

    Use AddedBrowsers.ini saved as Unicode:

Just use your profile path instead of the one in the screenshot.

You might want to add/ remove search engines:

    edge://settings/search

Ok thanks. I just checked my wifes computer that has the old Edge on it. There under More Tools there is the option to swtich to Internet Explorer. That is missing from the New Edge.

For now, I just put a Desktop link to IE. Then saved the two sites I use as favorites. That should do it. That is IF I ever start using Edge as my main browser.
Well that didn't work too well!

I tried to access my bank's site using IE11 from within Win10. It loads OK, but when I go to sign in it wants the two step verification. That is normal, but when the page comes up to choose method, it does not function properly. In fact I can't get by it.

I also tried to access the MyDlink site that is needed for cameras. It loaded and got to first section, but it would not go to the second section where the camera setup is.

Both of these work f I use IE from Windows 7. Just as well I kept it!

THis of course doesn't have much to do with EDGE, except tha IE is no longer accessible from it as it was before.

By the way, as a side note, C:\Users\User_Name\Favorites is still useful for whatever your main default browser is.
Just nuke what ever is in there from IE and drag and drop from your main browser into the favorites folder.

You can't drag folders into it, just shortcuts, so you need to re-create your folders and drop the respective shortcuts into it.

I've done this and turned on the links toolbar in taskbar, so I can quickly open directly to any of my favorite sites.
This way you have more choices than pinning on the browsers icon.

Only negative is, it sets all bookmarks in alphabetical order, instead of the browsers order.

    By the way another option:
Instead of using C:\Users\User_Name\Favorites you can just create a folder on your OneDrive, and copy your favorites folder onto it, and make sure all your machines have that folder sync'd, and then create a toolbar in the taskbar on all machines(physical or VM)
Example of mine(I have an extra dis for my OneDrive): O:\OneDrive\Sync to all my PCs\Favorites

This way all machines will have them, and they will work with what ever browser each machine has set as default.

I got an error window that kept popping up every minute or so after installing Chromium Edge.

Then I started asking myself "Why am I installing a browser that is not ready for full public release?".
I uninstalled it and went back to the old Edge and Internet Explorer that doesn't show an error window box.
I will wait for a few months and try again.
