This is great info - I don't have Nahimic stuff, just the full generic FF00, but still, I'm like you - I really, really want (quasi-need) my EQ settings enabled.
But with your experience, if I ever do get an external device like that, I'll now have a post I can come to directly to read nad help me work my way through my configuration. Thanks!
I can't at least until tomorrow, and more likely after the weekend - got plans and all....
Thanks....
if that's the case, I'm avoiding it - I desire (again, quasi-need) clarity above all.
So, is the eye candy just bonus?
Can anyone here direct me to an explanation of the difference between a UAD driver and a regular Realtek HDA driver? Many thanks!

Plus, I know it was talked about in this thread as well, but this thread is rather long....
I asked this a while back but have not found a solution yet so forgive me for trying again, but...
With an MSI B450 Gaming Plus board that uses Nahimic...Is there any way to install the newer HDA drivers WITHOUT Nahimic and still have the Enhancements Tab/Effects where EQ, and Loudness Equalization are found? With 6.0.1.8228 all that works, but with the newer ones (FF00) the tab is missing completely and the Realtek CP under Effects just has a "Launch Nahimic" link. I do not want anything to do with Nahimic, but need the Loudness EQ.
6.0.1.8228 = good
6.0.1.8612+ = nope
