Also uninstall the Intel GPU driver using DDU (display driver uninstaller)
Re-install the Intel GPU driver using the Intel driver and support assistant:
Download Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.3.5 (or newer version if available)
Official Display Driver Uninstaller DDU Download

OK, I ran DDU and followed the instructions from the SevenForums tutorial

Clean and restart brought me back to Windows with the resolution low (800 x 600). I changed that back to what I had before)

Do I still need to use the Driver Support Assistant to reinstall the driver, or has DDU already done that?

You can perform the in place upgrade and if successful run the Intel driver and support assistant.

Matthew Wai may want you to perform a step.

Make sure Malwarebytes is uninstalled and Microsoft defender is on before the in place upgrade.

Right upper corner > click the sprocket/gear > click Security tab > select rootkit

    Post scan results.

If clean > uninstall Malwarebytes using the applicable uninstall tool:
    https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean
    OK, doing that now

    Here is the MB result

If you've followed all the steps posted by Tekkie Boy then place the computer in clean boot (reboot) > then perform an in place upgrade repair using the windows 10 iso.

Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
    Download Windows 10 ISO File
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10
Will this wipe out all the apps and programs?

    Threats Detected: 30

Were you able to clean the PUPs?

When performed properly an in place upgrade repair maintains files and applications.

    Run:

SUERANTISPYWARE: Remove Malware & Spyware with Anti-Malware Software | Superantispyware
    AdwCleaner: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

Before the in place upgrade run the superantispyware uninstall tool:

The computer should be in clean boot.
Open file explorer > identify the flash drive and the iso > launch setup.exe > follow the text and images in the tutorial

    yes, upgrade

No, too late. I have been using my laptop next to the desktop to check up what is being posted while reboots and restarts were happening but didn't see his post until after I already started the upgrade.
