unable to update from 1803 nor perform clean install 0xc1900101

my issue in short
I am unable to update my windows since version 1803 - April 2018 to any newer version nor the update is showing
I have tried to install the 1809 and 1903 versions but I am getting the same issue
From media creation too direct update freezing on boot logo, force shutdown shows Failed in Safe_OS Phase 0xc1900101 – 0x20017
from windows update assistant freezing boot logo, force shutdown
from flash / usb freezing on boot logo, even install screen is not showing ( I cant do a clean install)
i have disabled the uefi safe boot and fast boot no luck

Asus x541uvk
ssd kingston - firmware updated
UEFI 308 latest version
HDD - instead of the dvd drive - 1TB seagate

Please navigate to Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther
Do you see files with the name CompatData_XXXXXX.XXXX.xml where xxx.xxxx is a date time.
Look in each of these files, you are looking for a table that looks like this.



Look down the column with the words "BlockMigration="

You will notice in example above drivers oem65.inf and oem64.inf are blocking migration.

Then navigate to Windows\INF. Use Notepad to open the inf files that were identified above as blocking. These are the ones that must be removed or updated. Some items are removed by uninstalling hardware / software or Windows features.

I use Rapr to remove hardware drivers.

When you start Rapr right click on the column titles and place a check mark by OEM.inf to view oem.inf column in the display.

Hi there

Remove any USB device from your system other than mouse and keyboard

download the script from UUPDUMP and create the iso
run the setup.exe from the created iso

now you can re-connect usb devices again and run 1903. Get the edition of W10 you want and the language and simply follow the script.

Backup exiting system first with something like Macrium Free.

"Seemples ..... Job done"

For build upgrades IMO it's alway better relying on UUPDUMP rather than the convoluted WU process which so many people have trouble with -- very few ever have trouble when upgrading builds via UUPDUMP -- talking about builds here not minor standard WU updates.

the issue is even booting from the usb is not happening I am stuck on boot screen

I have removed the HDD caddy (which replaces the DVD with HDD)
I have been able to access the setup of windows successfully
upgraded, the I have reattached the caddy, windows freezes and stuck on the bootloader

I think I have to buy new caddy, or upgrading my SSD

2) There are log collectors used in another forum.

Actually detaching/ removing the 2nd HDD caddy makes the windows bootable and updatable, if there is a boot issue maybe in the setup file of the windows is there anyway to edit?

I have reverted back to windows 1803
I cannot attach the drive which is (Drive D:) while the pc is opened

even if I replace the HDD with the SSD or another HDD in the HDD caddy it freezes

and now windows is telling me I am not ready for the update yet

I have conacted microsoft, they have remotley accessed my PC, no luck they have tried custom installation but didn't help
they have suggested that I contact ASUS directly, maybe the bios is not updated yet.

is there anyway to update or modify the bios?
