Are you using 361.43 version of nVidia driver ? If that is correct, rollback to 359.06 version and report back.
I am indeed using that driver.
I will rollback and post the outcome.
Thanks!
Nope. I rolled the driver back and it failed on the very next boot.
Btw....it doesn't fail on a reboot. But only when it boots from a complete shutdown.
Please update following drivers

Axe,
After doing a little research on my own I have discovered that the ASMMAP64.sys is not a stand alone driver that can be updated.
It is however part of the ATK app that Asus provides for various keyboard functions.
atkwmiacpi64.sys is also part of that ATK app. Unfortunately I have the latest and greatest ATK driver that Asus offers to date.
The other 2 drivers are part of an audio converter that I use. That is an easy fix. There is in fact an updated version of that software that I can download.
With that, I am pleased to announce that I have not had a fault in the past 2 days. If I were to give coincidence proper credit I would relate it to the suggestion that Isvet1 gave the other day. That I rollback my Nvidia driver. I tried his suggestion and I experienced a fault on the very next boot. So just downloaded a fresh copy of the updated Nvidia driver and installed that.
I have not had the first issue since doing that. Now I ask, do you think this is mere coincidence? Or do you think that maybe I had a corrupted driver and by reinstalling it fixed the problem? Lady luck is whispering in my ear that I have jinxed myself just by mentioning this and to expect a BSOD upon submitting this message. But since I haven't had the problem lately should we consider it fixed?
Should I mark this thread as 'SOLVED' and ride off into the sunset?
What say you?
Well....it did it again this morning.
I have been conversing with ASUS support about this as well. They seem to think this is a hardware problem.
They haven't specified which hardware but they suggest that I send it in for repair.

I hate to do it. This is my first ASUS machine. I fear they will keep it for months before returning it.
I'm sorry. Didn't even realized I posted it twice.
No, she didn't elaborate.
I honestly think they don't know. She just suggested that I send it in so "Their engineers could better diagnose the problem".
And she mentioned that it could possibly be a hardware problem.
I have since uninstalled everything that I absolutely do not use. I even uninstalled the Nvidia and Intel graphics control software.
My installed software list is very short now. :)
I am gonna try that for awhile.
It's strange because I was getting the crash on a regular basis. Then after your suggestion of removing Avast, it absolutely stopped, with exception of it failing during a boot here and there. And I guess I could just deal with it. After rebooting it works fine. I have no loss of productivity whatsoever. But its just the principal of it. I spent $1500 on a machine that I expect it to handle what I throw at it.
AS I mentioned I have always bought Dell products and I never had a problem. As much as I love this machine, it does make it feel kind of less than in my view.
What is your suggestion, Axe? Is there anything else you can think of that I can try?
Should I try sending it in and risk the horror stories that I have heard in the past?
I bought it from Amazon. I could still send it back for a refund. Maybe put a few bucks with my refund and buy something else?
