    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5) sfc /scannow
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
    8) wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 7
    9) wmic recoveros get autoreboot
    10) wmic recoveros get DebugInfoType
    11) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}

    12) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
    Follow with Windows updates

If the driver is not displayed then use Intel driver update assistant:
Download Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant

    14) Consider downloading and installing either or both:

    HP Support Assistant:
    https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/...hpsupport.html

    HP Softpaq download manager:
    https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02860501

    (it's retired software)

HP has another tool for the computer but it has not been updated for 1903, 1909, or 2004

    15) Run the HP software to update all drivers / BIOS

    16) Download and install HP UEFI hardware diagnostics:
    https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/.../pc-diags.html

    17) Power on the computer and repetitively click F2.
Run the HP UEFI hardware diagnostics overnight in extensive > loop until error > the next day click esc > run any component test as needed > take pictures of the tests performed with the results > post images into the thread

And later hardware tests as subscribed all passed fine as well.

I have re-installed the wireless adapter. HP can't find Netwbw02.sys on its site.

Looks like a hard one!! It only started with 2004 update so no idea what changed to cause the 9f's.

Were you able to check HP support assistant, HP softpaq download manager, and / or Intel driver and support assistant for replacement and new drivers?

Did you uninstall and reinstall or install without an uninstall?
Are both Ethernet and Wifi working?

Please update the specs in the "My Computer" section with Elitebook 840 G1

System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums
In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'.
After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, USB wireless network card, etc.)

    Thanks for help.

Both HP Support Assistant and Intel dvr support said no updates available.

    Uninstalled wireless adapter before re-installed.

    Both ethernet and wifi working.

Added 2nd comp specs - bog std Elitebook

None of the fixed MS problems seem relevant to my crash during sleep.

It's been on ethernet since last crash 20 hrs ago. Just wait and see time! Not too hopeful, though, as don't think anything has really changed.

    For additional Wifi options:

    a) Check Amazon and other retailers for a USB dongle:
    https://www.amazon.com/wi-fi-dongles...&node=13983791

    b) See if Intel customer support has options.

See post #2 code for disabled devices.
What issues were there that these were disabled?
Had you updated Intel Management Engine with either or both HP / Intel software or is it disabled?

    New V2 attached.

The disabled devices were for testing purposes - didn't help! I had updated the Management Engine earlier but it still crashed.

Yes, I can use a wireless dongle if all else fails. But will wait a bit longer to see what happens.
