Freeze and restart playing BF1 [PSHED.dll, ntoskrnl.exe, hal.dll]
Hi everyone
Symptoms:
Every time I join a multiplayer game of BF1 the game freezes within 5-10 seconds, and eventually after about 10-15 seconds the machine reboots. I am unable to alt+tab or ctrl+alt+delete while it is frozen. No audio plays during the freeze.
Bluescreenviewer indicates that it is consistently the following files that are affected:

What I have tried:
- Run Memtest overnight - no issues
- CMOS reset
- Repair BF1 from within Origin
- Reinstall BF1
- Completely reformat SSD (not keeping any user files), install Origin, install BF1, Install latest Nvidia driver (no 3D drivers, no HD audio drivers, no Geforce Experience)
- Tried a new DP cable and checked connections
- Stress tested GPU using FurMark and Heaven Benchmark (temperatures were ~70-75c and no errors or crashes)
- Been through hundreds of troubleshooting posts online, including changing how PhysX is handled (CPU/GPU), ensured DX12 is deselected, adjusted various in game video settings.
Current status
A brand new system running off a formatted and tested SSD with only Origin, BF1 and the latest video driver installed.
The same problem exists - I join a game, within 5-10 seconds the machine freezes.
I suspect a hardware issue with the GPU but just wanted people's opinions. Last time I took the GPU back to the store (for the same issue) they returned it saying it tested fine.
So far this only occurs with BF1. I currently can't test with any other demanding games because they are still downloading in Steam. I will test with ARMA 3 in a few hours when it's installed and update this post.
Thanks for reading!
