    Hi zbook,

Here are the results: Note from my post #22, I think I am missing a driver in the macrium usb disk which is why it can boot and I can run diskpart. When I add that driver, it endlessly boots thus unable to run command prompt. So results here are without the driver. Somehow I can't see the main drive even with bcdedit.endless booting and now can't restore macrium-wp_20200930_18_02_23_pro.jpgendless booting and now can't restore macrium-wp_20200930_18_03_54_pro.jpgendless booting and now can't restore macrium-wp_20200930_18_05_22_pro.jpgendless booting and now can't restore macrium-wp_20200930_18_06_28_pro.jpg

List of PC brands with their corresponding hot-keys

    I'm running out of ideas.

See if you can find new flash drives to create:
    a) bootable windows 10 iso 2004
    b) kyhi boot rescue
    c) ubuntu / liinux

I made recommendations about removing the drive and testing it, and trying to boot from a live boot disk without the internal drive present. These basic ideas don't seem to have been taken up.

If a dead disk is stopping you making progress, leaving it in will leave you dead in the water.

    I'm back.

To take the drive out I had to buy a specialty screwdriver and then HDD disk to USB caddy. Here are my results:

    1) I can now boot Kyhi's rescue disk without my HDD present
    2) I had 2 drives, one was a 500 GB HDD and 2nd was a 32GB SSD as a cache. I removed the HDD.
    3) Using the caddy the HDD tested fine for Malwarebytes, HDTune but failed 'chkdsk /f'.
    4) After the 'chkdsk /f' did it's repair, I put the HDD back and my laptop boots again but with a difference. I now get the Intel Rapid Storage Technology option menu (on every boot). I did not change any options. And it now takes 56 seconds to boot vs the previous 10 seconds. So i suspect no longer in cache mode.

I'm leaning toward just replacing the HDD with a 500GB SSD . Hopefully amazon prime day in 3 days has discounts. Ideally I would like to get my apps from my macrium backup but create a new user drive on the new ssd that just has user data but I could use guidance if this is possible.

Suggestions most welcome. Great to have a forum like this.

my version of support assist does not have all these options. I checked microsoft store and no updates available for this app either. I then tried via google and see there is a newer one but it won't install.endless booting and now can't restore macrium-failed_support_assist.jpg

    First and second scannow:
    Code:
Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

Dism scan and restore error codes: 14098
    Code:
The component store has been corrupted.

    For Ccleaner uncheck:
    a) Memory Dumps
    b) Windows Log Files

When available post images of the Dell custom diagnostics displaying the tests performed with results.

Backup important files to another drive.

    When the drive is replaced:
    a) clean install Windows
    b) install drivers displayed on the Dell Website (use Dell support assist if it installs)
    c) install applications
    d) perform Windows updates
    e) restore files
    f) make free backup images
