When in UEFI mode, it did not allow choice of USB as a boot source.

Can you boot something that is not win10? If your machine can handle win7, you could try this media 17514x64v24.iso

    Otherwise, try something Linux.

See if you get the same problem.

See if you can boot each:
    Memtest86+
    Memtest86

If you can boot one or both then test RAM.

Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
This may take hours so plan to run it overnight.

    a) Please make sure you use the Memtest86+ version 5.01 with the link below.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

The testing is done not by time but by passes.
The more passes the better the testing conditions.
There are a significant number of false negatives if fewer than 8 passes are made.
A false negative is a test pass when there is malfunctioning RAM.
There is 8 GB of RAM on the computer.
    Memtest86+ version 5.01 testing takes approximately 1 - 2 hours /GB RAM
Just 1 error is a fail and you can abort testing.
Then test 1 RAM module at a time in the same DIMM each for 8 or more passes.

    b) When Memtest86+ version 5.01 has completed 8 or more passes use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

    MemTest86+ - Test RAM

Run Memtest86 version 8.4 (or newer version if available) for four passes.
Repeat the test so that eight passes are performed.

MemTest86 - Official Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool

Use a camera or smart phone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.
In case there are any problems uploading images use share links (one drive, drop box, or google drive)

Memtest86 has a feature to produce a text report.
Please post this in addition to the images.

    See this tutorial:
Boot to Advanced Startup Options in Windows 10
Boot to Advanced Startup Options in Windows 10

Does the hard reboot option #6 open the Windows advanced troubleshooting menu on the computer?

When startup repair is attempted > indicate result and whether it generates srttrail.txt

When system restore is attempted > indicate result and whether there were available and working restore points

Whether you can open startup options

Whether you can open command prompt and type: dir > report results

If you can open command prompt > type:
    bcdedit | find "osdevice"
    report the partition result

    Hi zbook,

I'm not sure how to get to advanced startup. I get the nonstop ' performing automatic repair'. I have used option 6 ( hard reboot many many times) and never got to windows logo or any other screen other than my bios selections. Am I missing something?

    Hi zbook,

With no usb, I never get to a Windows logo screen, just the DELL logo with preparing automatic repair.
With Kyhi usb disk, no luck , it does eventually gives BSOD and says must reset and again mentions 'page fault in non paged area - iastorav.sys'
With Windows install usb, same result as Kyhi disk

How many RAM modules are there?
    Can they be removed?

Are you able to remove the drive?
