It is possible to add Windows Update to the desktop. Do you want it?

First thank you all for your responses

I followed the instructions and it did move the icon to the control panel. I tried to open the updates but nothing happened.
I not sure if that means there are NO updates or I did it wrong.

Did you do that as admin as per the tutorial?

it did move the icon to the control panel
    - it's not moving an icon...

Did you use the reg file from the tutorial?

    Please clarify the problem -

1 Does the WU entry appear in the Control panel?
2 Does clicking on that entry take you to Settings, Update
3 Are you then able to click on the Check for updates button?

Until you show us some screenshots, your problem remains an enigma, enigma1944.

'It did not work' is vague and ambiguous. Hope you can find time to respond to Try3's post.

To post a screenshot see the relevant tutorial/ use icon 'Insert Image' above your post.
