    Version 1903 fail

    Hi
I've attempted to update to version 1903 several times but it always fails with error 0xc1420121.
Does this mean that it's the end of my PC?

1809. I've tried all the usual stuff as recommended on this site but to no avail.
I'm thinking that after a while MS will say there's no longer any support without the 1903 update.

Failure to upgrade can be troubleshooted or you can often reset save files.
With reset save files you will need to reinstall drivers and applications.

If you choose to troubleshoot then start with setupdiag:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...rade/setupdiag

Dell has supported drivers up to windows 7 and provided no tested drivers for Windows10.

Run the Dell detect drivers to see if produces any results > post images into the thread
Run Intel driver update assistant to see if it produces any results > post images into the thread
If the computer has Nvidia or AMD drivers > run the applicable software to check for updated drivers > post images into the thread

Overnight run Dell diagnostics full test > post images of the results into the thread
    https://www.dell.com/support/home/us...n-620/diagnose

For steps/ tests upload images into the thread or post share links using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

Yes, I already ran setupdiag & the Dell diagnose - all problem-free.
I did the reset option but keeping apps but no joy.
I'm not prepared to do a total reset as the time it'd take to re-install apps etc is just untenable with no guarantee that it would solve the problem.
It's a pity because although the PC is pretty old it runs extremely well, even with heavy weight software such as Davinci Resolve. Seems that any problems I've had have involved the dreaded Windows update.
Oh well, I guess I've got a while yet before there's an issue with not updating.
    Thanks.

Part of the problem is ms updates the update so if you haven't got the latest it fails. Have you installed all updates it offers first?

Oh yeah, I always keep updated - manually check if there are any.

    1) There are log collectors used in another forum room.
Run both V2 and DM and upload results into this thread:
    BSOD - Posting Instructions

    2) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    3) sfc /scannow
    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5) chkdsk /scan
    6) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
    7) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}
    8) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    9) List and uninstall all non-Microsoft antivirus software
(This includes always on and manual software.)
(This includes running the applicable antivirus uninstall tools for any AV that could have been incompletely uninstalled)

    10) List and uninstall all non-Microsoft firewall software

    11) List all Microsoft and non-Microsoft drive encryption software.
Uninstall all non-Microsoft disk encryption software

    Given up

Thanks for you help but it seems that my PC is just too old to take the 1903 update.
There's a Microsoft list somewhere that lists PCs that have been successfully tested & my model is not among them.
Seems I need to get a new PC.
But since I can't afford one I'll have live with version 1809. It's not a huge problem since this machine runs really well for what I do.
    Thanks for your help.
