Symptom Workaround After installing this KB, Internet Explorer 11 users who use SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) may not be able to scroll through a drop-down menu using the scroll bar. Using the scroll wheel on a mouse works as expected. This issue only applies to document mode 11, so attempting to load the page with document mode 10 may work around the issue.
To change the document mode in Internet Explorer 11:
- Select F12.
- Select the Emulation tab.
- In the Document mode drop-down menu, select 10. The page will reload in the new document mode.
Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

"Requires a restart to finish installing" - 2017-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4048954) - Restart Issue
Hi Support Team,
I have recently updated windows patches from WSUS server to all the domain system but I'm facing problem with "KB4048954" this patch, After installing this I have restarted my (All the domain) systemmultiple times but still it's showing "Requires a restart to finish installing" Please help me to resolve this issue. (Windows 10 OS)
Thanks & regards,
Sanjeev Chavhan
I am having the same problem with this update and wsus. Only thing I can do to make it work is uninstall the update and let it reinstall again. Looks like the update installs, it is just stuck asking for the restart. It doesn't seem to make the workstation restart every night either. I am guessing something flaked out and ms quickly fixed the update or something. I am going to wait and see if next cumulative update correct issue.
Regarding the update history "requires a restart to finish installing" message for KB4048954:
The same update history message appeared on my husband's HP laptop for this update, even after I manually restarted and watched the operation complete with no errors. I seem to remember that system information did indicate that the build version had been updated. There were no attempts to reinstall the update and WU reported the system up to date. This morning I checked his update status and saw that KB4055254 had downloaded and required a restart; it installed correctly and his system is now at build 15063.729. Update history's "restart required" for KB4048954 seems to have been ignored following the update's installation.
Weird question: is this update targeted for those having this kind of devices? I just updated yesterday, but this update was never offered, just .726...
