How is it Misleading - please explain
If a test was completed say in FEB and you are reading it an March - then all you can say is on Date xxxx in FEB the results might mean something. in MAR a whole range of other issues could have appeared plus possibly updates might have been done to the programs tested so in any case AV software bought in MAR might not have the same characteristics or properties as when tested in FEB.
So Please tell me what's misleading about not basing your evaluations on PAST data.
If you've ever traded on the Stock market - past performance is no guarantee as to future performance. It can be an indicator but it's not usually the best way of investing.

As a general rule new definitions for paid for av programs at least that see regular support will come in at any time being daily, weekly, monthly as opposed to saying the best found one day is no good the next. So simply the review is way off the following month you may want to ask why they don't also compare a more extensive list of av programs and get told "well we have our constituents..."
A totally independent security firm would be the place to start looking for more credible information as far as comparisons since they wouldn't be seeing any partial biases towards one or another. What I was told by someone who was a security analyst for one of the main av software companies is what he used being BitDefender Free and the free edition of Zone Alarm which many frowned at back when 7 was new.
Of course being a pro that would be one person who would recognise any malware with instant recognition from being in the industry. Sorry I ain't that good while still able to manually find and remove bugs I still elected to stay with the paid for and much better supported retail product here. "ye all can stumble round in the dark tripping over youselves about the others!"
Number one protection: Scan everything with MBAM and Defender after the second Tuesday of each month regardless of how confidnet you are abouit the auto-scans. Secondly: Create your pristine System Image on an internal or external HDD or SSD.
Now you're talking! I am always amazed after 20 years of home computer clients that 98% of them are still not creating System Images on a regular basis!
And yes. Like someone said early if they did get infected. It comes from pirated software/license sites, pron, free junkware downloads, email links that should never be clicked and just plan naivety. Bone-up on these things plus listen to us experts.
Drive safely now....

Mousegolf, good post, but how did you pick that time period?
Historically the second Tuesday of the month (called "Patch Tuesday") was when MS provided most of their fixes/updates. I'm not sure if that is still the case - they seem a bit more random these days.
It was (and is) a good policy to make a backup before installing major updates in case they didn't work so that is where the time comes from I'd imagine. If you are making a backup it would make sense to run a scan before - why not?
I don't think malware tends to pick a specific schedule but perhaps it still does. Friday 13th and April 1st used to be popular as far as I recall so we should be OK for a while (fingers crossed :) )
Not only best antivirus we also best android emulator to play android games. As i am game addict i wish i could mention this one. So, here is my best android emulator along with best antivirus for windows 10. Bluestacks for windows 10 and McCaffe are the best and working awesome for my windows 10.
The best antivirus is backups / regular clean-up
There can be no end to this thread.
Everyone has their own opinion based on what AV, solution they have confidence in.
As far as I'm concerned if a user is happy and confident in the protection they are using then that's fine, throw a little commonsense into the mix then it gets even better.
Until an all conquering AV is discovered it's a matter of do what you feel is best for you, end of.
