First Major Update for Windows 10 Available
-
I upgraded from windows 7 as stated before. Windows 10 installed fine from 7 just this new update if it any good giving me issues. Only changed i did to pc was changed the ram had 4gb now added 8 gb & upgraded a 500gb to a 1tb using the WD drive clone software on there site. But that wouldn't cause this. Is there any free software to delete the 100mnb partition? If that will work if not i guess reformat.
I do believe If you had digital entitlement you lost it changing the RAM and HD. You may have to start from 7 again.

Naw, I doubt that. He'd have to change the processor, or motherboard to lose digital entitlement.

OK. I see. What exactly is all in the "footprint" they take?

currently installed hardware, like ram, cpu, harddrive, motherboard, not sure if peripherals are included such as usb devices.
and for the record I'm guessing but I'd put money on the motherboard at the very least being garunteed.

Ok. The Page Fault that you got is due to a defunked driver or update I would guess.

Did you turn off Secure Boot before trying to install?
-
I never done this before & all the searched for disable secure boot but not sure how to turn it off. This UEFI isnt on my advanced settings also I went to bios.

A Linux Ubuntu live disc using their excellent drive tools will format your Hdd fine or you could boot into the Windows installer .
FWIW the problem may indeed be from the OEM software you used to migrate your hdd it happens plenty ☻ .
Macrium Reflect Free is usually the go to free product for cloning/migrating hdd's and better than most OEM or play for play stuff again Google is your friend .

I used Acronis True Image from Western Digital to clone drive as they recommended. It all went well there Copied all from old drive that had Windows 10 on it before i sent it back was a rma & upgrade from them. Old Hard drive made to much noise but no bad sectors on it so copy was fine. All i noticed then I lost my restore points but WD told me cause I am using larger drive. But this secure boot maybe the answer if I can disable it. I cant see a EUFI or Legacy in bios Here are some pictures (sorry there upside down but there right from when I sent them) & I tried to go back to previous build & does nothing just reboots.
WD lifeguard or an Ubuntu live disc will format your Hdd fine .
