    @CountMike

    Mike you're my lucky charm!!!
    For the first time, since 2014 that I bought the HP Color LaserJet MFP M177fw, wireless setup was completed in a flash, with no problems.
    Printing, scanning all perfect....and you guys were blaming Microsoft for 1809...

    <Snip>

    After restart, I got a notification, from Windows Update, that my PC was missing some critical features, so I said what the f..., install them too....before imaging!
    Huuuge mistake!!! Why?
    Because miraculously and although Feature Updates were still deferred for 30 days, the "missing features" where installed... i.e. 1809!!!!

    So I'm now on 17763.194, without any further notice!....and guess what, I went to the Advanced Update settings and zeroed the defer days, as Microsoft had decided not to honor their own setting.

    So guys, I think that they are pushing 1809...just be aware!

    And a final note... It took me directly to Windows 10 v1809 Build 17763.194, as I don't have KB4471332 in history
    Actually, Ddelo, when you gave it permission to install the "missing updates", you gave it permission to install 1809. I think WU's telling you that you have missing updates is a "new feature" to trick you into changing your mind on deferring feature updates.

    Wynona, I'm usung the Realtek AD Audio(SST) driver R281 from 2017 and it is working fine. I think it is still available on the Realtek site. It might work for you.

    A quick background.
    I decided to upgrade my laptop by replacing the HDD with a Samsung 860 SSD. Although the image of 1803 I created is still in my backup disk, I thought that it would be a good idea not to restore it on the SSD but to go for a clean install, to avoid mistakes of the past.
    So I did and installed 1803, partitioning the system with a revised script, from @Kari's excellent tutorial.

    Everything went very fast and the first thing I did, as soon as the installation finished, was to defer Windows Update for 30 days, to avoid for now installation of 1809.
    Having done that I started to update drivers and apply my all-version tweaks before I make an image of the fresh installation.
    After a 3-hour break (my football team was playing against AC Milan for the Europa League...Yeah, we did it!!!) I came back to my laptop to create a Macrium Full image. During my absence I was offered the latest Windows updates, as Tuesday was Patch-day, so I asked it to download them and that brought my fresh installation to 17134.471.

    I don't understand this post. It has been more than 30 days since this update was re-released, so the defer feature worked as it was suppose to. What is the problem?

    My sound problem was fixed with Andre's post listing the 2015 solution, WEK; I have an IDT sound card.

    However, it might help those who have a Realtek sound card.

    True, but I don't think ddelo deferred at the time of the release; it seems he just now deferred, which should (if he hadn't given permission) mean nothing should be installed for 30 days from the time he deferred.

    Wynona, I'm afraid that Rocky is right and I made a mistake presuming that it starts from the day I set the days, i.e. yesterday.

    I think that the days countdown starts from the day the Feature Update is released and not the day the user decides to defer the update.

    Either way, the facts remain that MS is probably pushing the update and that it's been installed in my laptop and to be honest, so far I haven't faced any issues, not even with my stubborn to setup HP color laserjet.

    Thank you both for your insights!

    Ddelo, I'm pretty sure the countdown starts on the day you defer updates, since I've done it before, and never had any unexpected updates.

    So, not to prove who's right or wrong, but because I want to be sure of what I'm doing the next time I defer, I'm gonna ask those far smarter than I am about this stuff . . . When does the countdown actually start when deferring updates?

    Does it start from the time the Build is released or does it start on the actual day updates are deferred?

    At the bottom of this referenced article, it seems that the change should take effect immediately:

    "Changes take place immediately and you should not receive quality and feature updates for whatever period you set."
