This problem is usually caused by the Windows 10 or 11 source ISO selected for use in the build. As I understand previous references to this problem, some source ISO's contain build version inconsistencies. For example, use of the currently available ISO version Microsoft will generate this error. I have been using Win11_23H2_English_x64v1.iso without issue.

Presumably that is the October 2023 version?

    I havent seen Win11_23H2_English_x64v1.iso

    I have Win11_23H2_English_x64.iso and Win11_23H2_English_x64v2.iso

October 2023 version is also known as

    en-us_windows_11_consumer_editions_version_23h2_x64_dvd_8ea907fb.iso

    it is easy to find.

Win11_23H2_English_x64v2.iso will definitely generate the error. Win11_23H2_English_x64.iso should work fine.

You are correct in that the v1 I referenced was the ISO from October 2023.

The v1 I referenced was the ISO from October 2023. When v2 was released I renamed the original Oct ISO as v1. So I misspoke in my first post.

It is logical to have v1 then v2.

I dont use startisback, preferring open shell for my builds.

have you tried pecmd part -gui

I dont recommend doing anything with it, unless you can read it.

Open shell is nice. However, startisback is the project default. Whenever ChrisR publishes a new release of Win10XPE, I feel that sticking with the default means one less custom thing to check or debug should the new release not work as it should.

No, I have not tried pecmd part -gui.

    pecmd part -gui

It is a lot of effort to dig it out, decompress and attempt to translate it.
