Win10XPE - Build Your Own Rescue Media [2]

I'm having a great time building and customizing my WinXPE. One question though, i've had success editing the pecmd.ini to put shortcut in the start menu and the desktop. But I can't seem to get that shortcut in the start menu (not start menu > program or Programs>subfolder). In WinSCP, i save a workspace and it created a shortcut for it on the desktop. I moved that shortcut into Y:\Programs\WinSCP-5\Workspace.lnk and i put a shortcut link in pecmd.ini

    LINK %Programs%\Workspace,Y:\Programs\WinSCP-5\Workspace.lnk

When i reboot in into WinXPE, i hit the windows button, start menu pops up, then i click on "Programs" and i can see and execute my "Workspace" shortcut. But how do i get that shortcut to show up right in the start menu when i first click it?

Very bottom of Pecmd.ini > [PinUtil]
But can't pin from a removable drive...

Or try putting a period instead of %Programs%
    LINK .\Workspace,Y:\Programs\WinSCP-5\Workspace.lnk

    LINK .\Workspace,Y:\Programs\WinSCP-5\Workspace.lnk
    what worked was
    [PinUtil]
    StartMenu1=B:\Programs\WinSCP-5\Workspace.lnk

    File attributes.
I placed the WinSCP.ini in the 'ISO root folders' ( in .\Programs\WinSCP-5\WinSCP.ini) so when i start the program, WinSCP is configured just the way i want it. I have it set to "don't save workspace on exit" so when the program is always in the state it needs to be in when started. But if one tries hard enough, the default state of it can be changed, and since the files are on Y:\ that state is remembered. The one way to prevent that is to set the WinSCP.ini to read only attribute. I have done that , but when the project is compiled, the file is put into the proper folder, but it loses it READONLY attribute. Can you think of a way to maintain that Readonly atributeso that when you unpack that ISO it's 'readonly' and won't be changed..

    Backup before modifying plugins

    In a totally unrelated matter,

When modifying complicated plugins, I add a one-click backup option for 'Last Known Good' to each plugin. It's faster than trying to remember what code you just accidentally deleted when you went to answer your cellphone.

    1) Manually create a folder named BackupPlugins under your BaseDir. A one time thing.

    2) Add a Button to each plugin's [Interface] like:

pButton1="Backup this plugin",1,8,545,70,98,25,BackUpPlugin,0,False,False,_BackUpPlugin_,False,"__Before you do something risky"

    3) Add a new Section to each plugin like:

    [BackUpPlugin]
    FileCopy,%ScriptFile%,%BaseDir%\BackupPlugins,NOWARN
    Message,"Plugin backed up to BaseDir\BackupPlugins",Information,4

Hi, sorry for posting question about the camera again. With all updated scripts from first page including the new mega, the camera is working with Windows 10 but somehow for Windows 11 camera access is being restricted by Windows, both using the same Administrator as user. Anyone knows how I can enable application access for the camera in Windows 11 PE? By the way I am using Chrome to access my camera in PE and it is working fine with Windows 10 PE. Thanks in advance.

    Important!!!
    imagex.exe (x86) not found when enabling .NETFx3
Solved by running the WinBuilder once and download the Tool Pack first. Then those exe are found in project tools.
