    disk related 7 minute delay during boot

    Hey!
    My first post to please bear with me :)
    Sorry for hijacking an old thread, but this thread is connected to my issue 100%.
    Running windows 10 20H2, updated a month or so ago... and then is when the issue occurs.
    Startup time has gone from 20 seconds to 7 minutes, and I didn't do anything special, besides upgrading to 20H2.
    After some troubleshooting, and searching for answers, I saw that it's related to hard drive i/o.
    So I disconnected all my drives one by one and kept only the OS drive.
    Worked... but I was left without my drives.
    Kept checking until I've reached a drive that if I plug it in, the startup time is 7 minutes again.
    Why this is happening? the post is idling for a long time and nothing is loaded from the drive...
    Would be nice if someone will help me, I don't want to format the OS drive.
    Attached is a WPR record, from the tutorial in the first page.
    let me know...

    Hello orbittwz and welcome to TF ,

    "Kept checking until I've reached a drive that if I plug it in" - what is it? You mentioned multiple drives and I'm confused about "it". Run Crystal Disk Info to check health with all drives connected - what is the health of "it" drive and other drives?

    @zinou @steve108, thanks!
    this thread is related to my issue so as I said before, instead of opening the same issue, I will update this one...
    all my hard drives are working fine, and worked fine before the update...
    I have no issues once the boot sequence is finished, I can access the drive mentioned and use it OK.

    EDIT: oh seems I was moved to a new thread... OK thanks...

    Drives working fine vs checking health are two different things.

    drive D is causing the slow boot... didn't caused before 20H2, with 2004 it was fine.
    my drives health are great, ironically drive D is the most new, with only 10525 PoH.
    crystaldisk shows all GOOD

    Task Manager -> Startup. Disable everything non-critical as a test , reboot, and see if there's any change.

    I did that already, also did the prefetch refresh instructions...
    The ASMedia 106x SATA controller disable... I don't know about that, it might get my computer unresponsive...

    EDIT: to add to the startup, it says "Last BIOS Time: 9.4 seconds"
    so it's idling something before starting normally

    What about the Disk mgmt. diagram I suggested in post #5?

    It might not be relevant, but is there a Bios update available [assuming your hardware is still in support]?
