    Install OS on start up

    Hi All,
    I have a HP Envy 17" W10 Home version 1903

I don't normally shut my PC down just put it to sleep.
A couple of times recently on wake up, I've had a message saying 'install operating system'.
Below the message is the option to do a memory & hard drive check including Smart check & Long & Short dst which all pass.

Once done I can reboot and all is fine (til the next time) but if I don't do the check when rebooting the message pops up again.

Is there a fix or is it time to start looking for a new PC

    Hello @Mayfly,

    Just a few suggestions . . .

[1] Was there an interruption in the power recently?
[2] Have there been any WU's that you have applied?
[3] Have you installed any new hardware or software?
[4] Were there any new driver updates?
[5] Do you have a System Restore point prior to this happening that you could use?
[6] Have you run a chkdsk?
    [7] Have you run sfc?

[1] Was there an interruption in the power recently? Not that I am aware
[2] Have there been any WU's that you have applied? I assume this is windows update? I think the last was about 3 weeks ago but notice 20H2 is available
[3] Have you installed any new hardware or software? No
[4] Were there any new driver updates? Not that I am aware
[5] Do you have a System Restore point prior to this happening that you could use? Only one available is 8 Nov
[6] Have you run a chkdsk? Yes no problems
[7] Have you run sfc? sfc said it found some corrupt files and had repaired them.

Thanks for your help, let's hope that was the problem.
