NO Update Options in Win 10 Pro 1607 Build 14393.5

    Hi,

Have just used an DVD to install windows 10 Pro on a HP Z640 and it did install and boots up fine.
Trouble is there is no option to Update in Control Panel.
System only says Win 10 Pro no version but found it with winver

It is connected to net okay and everything else seems fine.

    Version 1607 Build 14393.5

Is there any other info you need?

How can I correct this please as I can't do anything until it is updated.

I've decided to reinstall Win 10 Pro from the latest iso and hopefully all will be good.

    - why use an iso file if you're planning to clean install?

Use MS's media creation tool to create the appropriate bootable drive directly- no need to fiddle with creating one from an iso file.

When you clean install you will delete all the previous Win 10 partitions.

Search for /see 'About' in Settings

    - or search the searchable Tutorial section for e.g.
    windows build number

    Find Windows 10 Build Number

    Search Settings for
    update

or use the taskbar search box /Win key + S
    and search for e.g.
    check for updates

Check for and Install Windows Update in Windows 10

Many thank guys. I appreciate the help.
Yes as dalchina suggested, I did a install from the Media Creation Tool.exe and all is good now. Set up with all updates and running well.

Now before something breaks (or you break it!) remember to start using 3rd party disk imaging as early as possible - e.g. Macrium Reflect (free) so you can quickly recover...

    Yes thanks.
Have Macrium and have already done an image backup and also a clone disk. Too many times I've been burnt.
