The upgrade failure is a separate problem.
Back up user folders to an external HD or to the cloud.
Consider replacing the HD with a SSD.
Clean install Windows 10 1909.
Restore users folders.
This should provide better performance and faster boot.
Windows upgrade failure is also fixed by clean install.

Hi folks
If it's PRO edition and there's problems updating -- try downloading the build you want from UUPDUMP --loads of people on the Forum use it, extract the cmd file and run --it will create iso and then run the setup.exe and choose custom if you don't want to clean install --then select keep files programs etc. This method seems to work in many cases when original update method fails.
BTW always backup system before doing any upgrades --Free Macrium isa good backup program used a lot by people on these forums. It's Free -- either clone or image your windows disk.
