Dell XPS 8940 Power up issue
I have a Dell XPS 8940, Windows 10 Pro (Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4046)) that for a while now has had an aggravating glitch in that when I turn the PC on each day I have to press the power button twice before it will boot. The first press the power light illuminates, the BD/DVD/CD drive led flashes (I typically have a BD/DVD left in the drive of a movie or series I'm watching) and then the PC turns off. 2nd press of the power button and the PC boots normally. There are no Post sounds indicating an issue when it shuts itself off after the first press of the power button.
I suspect this issue is the result of how the PC is turned off. It is typically shut down via Task Scheduler with a schedule using the shutdown.exe /s command. When I shut the PC down with the start menu shutdown options it starts normally (one press of the power button).
PS: I recently replaced the power button because the power on LED was intermittent, so it doesn't appear to be a power button issue.
