Can't load cloned copy, gets to login should be but black ?

    Hi all,
I tried loading in a cloned copy of Win 1o (latest ed) from bios swap to it but it gets to where login should be and just get a black screen. If I move the mouse, then the pointer appears but with a loading circle. If I try, for example, to hit Win+P to change multi screen a green blank bar flashes up but goes. The HDD light keeps lashing indicating activity but that's it, can only get the mouse pointer and loading circle.
I've tried making a clone on other drives (SSD/NVME) and loading them in on other M/B ports/USB but with the exact same result.
Only the original (SSD) will load.
I was swapping between 2 cloned drives to test an audio app, as it worked on one but had an issue on the other and was using the second as a backup originally. I cloned the good drive and then this. It only loads with that.
    Any help appreciated.
    TIA

How are you cloning IE what software and are you cloning the whole drive as other partition may be needed to load windows. Post a screenshot from disk management of old drive and clone

As stated, What software are you using to Clone? Did you use a Rescue USB Flash Drive disk of the app to run it outside of Windows?
When cloning, did you select all the partitions on the drive? including the Hidden Partitions with no drive letter? If not, these include the Boot files.
When Booting to the new drive, unplug the Original drive to make sure it boots from it's Boot partition.
If it fails, the clone didn't go well, do it again.

I've had only one failure with cloning and it was because I got in a hurry and didn't run Error Checking first to assure there was no file corruption. I do hardware cloning, not software.
