Original vs 3rd party printer ink refill ?

I have a canon G2010 printer which i use for casual printing. Therefore i'm thinking that using 3rd party ink refill
bottle is good enough which cost half the price of the original ink refill bottle. Anyone able to share their experience
of using 3rd party printer ink refill bottle ?

Third party ink tends to have more water, depending upon the maker and this leads to fading over time.
If photos are involved, stay with the original.
For documents, where colour fading is of no concern, then other ink may be acceptable.
It is the old adage,---you get what you pay for ----

To add, many cartridges have some means of identity such as a chip and the printer would detect the third-party/generic and maybe the refilled ones. The chip may need a reset when refilled. I've never used refilled or generic, as mentioned, the best quality would be from the printer manufacturer. As for refilling, I've had to clean up a few toner spills when using Laser printers and copiers [very fine power], not fun but easier with vacuums made for the purpose.

Don't fall prey to false claims that third-party offerings are inferior to those from printer makers.

For 3rd party printer ink cartridges, see the results of a survey of 8000 users in
Best cheap ink cartridges and where to buy them - Which
    Which said:
But in our survey of more than 8,000 inkjet printer owners, the highest-rated printer ink brands were all third-party suppliers.
    under the heading
    Do cheap ink cartridges work?
    where you'll see that
    Which said:
of those who use third-party cartridges regularly, only 5% experienced cartridges not working in their printer, only 2% had any leakage and just 6% thought print quality was poorer than expected

But the added chore of using a bottle to refill cartridges manually is something I tried in about 1990 and vowed never to try again.

    All the best,

On top of it they do not last as long as the original and might mess up the printer. So cheaper?! Not really.

"they do not last as long as the original" was not identified by those 8000 survey respondents and only 2% reported leakages.

That depends on the quality of the refill or the company, which provides it. 100% leaks eventually in ours.

I use ink from Stratitek for around 15 years. I bought a $20 kit with ink and the requisite tools.
I followed with an ink-only set costing $13, which included set of black and color ink bottles.

I've used that ink with Lexmark and Canon printers. Refilling is easy and that $13 has handled dozens of refills.

    The only problems are:
    1. Be sure to refill BEFORE the cartridge runs dry. If it's dry you're out of luck.
    2. Cartridges eventually stop working.

Despite that I've saved a huge sum of money on cartridges.

Note: I only refill the black cartridges. Color is a pain ... too many refills.
And anyway I seldom need color. If I need to print a color photo I take it to CVS. Fast. Cheap. Reliable. And better than what my printers can produce.

If only it waw possible, but managers think that they are cheaper ($200 per piece).
