Windows 10 machine no longer boots and stuck at spin wheel

    Hi,

Few days ago my mature Windows 10 1909 system just stopped working. It wouldn't get past the spinning wheel no matter what and only could get in via safe mode. Eventually that didn't even work. Assuming I had a corrupt system I formatted the disk and installed 1909 from usb installer fresh. After that I installed a limited number of applications one by one and all of a sudden I couldn't boot once again stuck! So I assumed it was perhaps the last few items I installed and uninstalled Intel RST package, ESET Internet Security, and Killer Networking Manager.

Still not sure what the culprit was I studied the Event Logs for clues. Definitely Killer app services had trouble as there was an Error that Killer Network Service cannot be found. Anyhow not sure how to investigate further if any one can help?

    My config:
    Asus Apex motherboard
    GSKill 32gb 3600mhz 2x16
    SN750 WD Black nvme drive
Logitech mouse and keyboard -> Logitech gaming software
    Corsair ICue for H100 cooler
    Nvidia 2080 MSI video card.
    Killer 1650x wifi adapter
    Intel 750 Nvme drives

    Thanks

If you can boot into Safe Mode you can perform a clean boot state to find out which application causing the boot problem.

Have a look at Reliability History for any relevant entries.

My desktop PC sometimes used to do that. A full power off by throwing the mains switch then turning on the PC fixed the issue. I them disable fast boot in the BIOS on advice from Gigabyte and all has been fine since.

    Killer network manager

Think my Killer network manager software was at fault. Event viewer lit up with errors on every instance of Killer services trying to run. Seems to be working fine now with it uninstalled.

    Thanks
