Will only boot in safe mode and with driver signature enforcement off

My laptop would not boot and the automatic repair never worked. tried about 15 times but just comes back with an error and to check CBS log. I tried many things but the only thing that has worked is to Disable driver signature enforcement" This allows it to boot but only into safe mode.

I have tried sfc /scannow but that fails.
Tried the DISM command and that too failed.

before I managed to get it to boot up, I checked the CBS log file and it mentioned a problem with bootrecs.dll

    Can't do system Restore.
    Can't do reset windows.

Can anyone help? It's driving me mad.

I am not sure if it will work, but you can try to use Tweaking.com's Windows Repair tool which has lots of repairing tools which might solve your problem. There is a portable version of the tool so that you don't have to install it. I have myself used Tweaking.com's Windows Repair tool in the past to fix problems with my laptop and it works very well. Hope it works for you, good luck!

Hi. Thanks but I doubt the repair tool would fix it. I wouldn't know where to start anyway.

    Hi 1974darrenh

Boot your Windows into Safe Mode and execute below commands:

    Code:
    Sfc /scannow

    Findstr /c:"[SR]" "C:\WINDOWS\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" > %UserProfile%\Desktop\Cbs.txt
Make sure to execute the Findstr command after SFC command completed and attached the Cbs.txt file that will be created on your Desktop to your next post.

Also open Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu and from Device Manager uninstall all newly and faulty device drivers.

    Hi.

    Thanks for your help.

I have done as you have asked. The initial sfc /scannow came back as "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

I did the second command and have attached the result to this post.

I looked in device manager and couldn't find any recent or faulty drivers. (Surely tho, if it boots in safe mode and not normal mode, then it must be a driver?)

However I still have problems. When I boot the computer, it fails after 3 seconds and goes into a boot loop 3 times until the startup repair starts up, it then attempts repair but cannot fix. I then boot it into safe mode and it starts up perfectly with no problems so my problem is, getting out of safe mode and back into normal mode

I used "Sigverif" and it has come back with 42 unsigned drivers.

In the "My Computer" section please update to display:

    HP Pavilion g6-1310ea Notebook PC

The computer manufacturer supported drivers ended with Windows 8.
The last BIOS update was in 2013.

When available please post the beta log collector zip into this thread for troubleshooting.
