I am still trying to discern a pattern for the crashes or for that matter determine what really is the cause of the crashes. Malwarebytes, a Malwarebytes scan, a driver, something else?
Last night it did its usual crash soon after the Malwarebytes scan was run. I restarted and it was fine, going to sleep several times. This morning after being asleep for 10 hours it again crashed (I assume) the next time it tried to sleep. Although this was not the three for three crash but just the "windows was not shut down properly" crash.
Can you tell me how you read the dump files I attach in the zip file? I can't read a .dmp file, or at least I don't think I can with any of the native tools/programs on this computer.
You need a tool like Windbg to load the dump files, else you get unreadable text.
Unfortunately it is a bit more complicated than just installing software, fortunately a TF member has created a tutorial for how to setup properly Windbg

After the setup is succesful completed, you need to understand the output what isn't quite easy to do.
This tutorial shows a few things of the basics, but things will get complicated sometimes due to the varying causes of crashes.
I've learned it simply by doing research on what I didn't understand piece by piece, a lot of trying and anticipating on the outcome of what has been tried.

I have a feeling that would go over my head. You and Boris have posted snips of the dump files and you led me to Malwarebytes which I still feel is the culprit. Someone on their forum posted about a similar issue with mwac.sys but they don't have an answer. They want me to post logs and this and that related to my computers virus status which I know is clean.
I can perhaps fix the symptoms by doing some things including limiting the MBAM scan which I already did but I would rather find the cure.
You won't find the cause until you try, we can only assume from the analyses we do but until the suggested things have been tried we never know if it truly was the cause.I am still trying to discern a pattern for the crashes or for that matter determine what really is the cause of the crashes. Perhaps I have overlooked some suggestions. Other than disabling sleep, which I can try, are there others?
I am confident my Power settings are basic and not causing this.
Regarding sleep, which is an essential function of a computer in my mind, if disabling it prevents the crashes from occurring that doesn't really fix the problem it just masks the symptom.
I know there are many who have problems with the sleep function, I have however never had a problem because I don't let my laptop go into sleep by itself. It is something I think you should consider too.
Then it can't be fixed until Microsoft releases a patch, because it most likely would be a bug in Windows.Regarding sleep, which is an essential function of a computer in my mind, if disabling it prevents the crashes from occurring that doesn't really fix the problem it just masks the symptom.
That isn't what I meant, what I meant is: change the sleep settings so you only manually can get your system into sleep (mentioned this earlier)I have had problems with getting computers to sleep (there was/is a huge thread about it on eightforums) but this is different. This is a computer crash.
They always ask it, it gives them insight in what is present on your system and so they can find out if your system is infected and possibly with what so they can suggest something to remove it. Users aren't always aware of it when their system is infected (not saying it is the case with you as I can't tell)They want me to post logs and this and that related to my computers virus status which I know is clean.
