    Actually the code itself works as shown below, but is it possible it is getting over-ridden by something else ?

    Code:
    /*tighten drop down menus*/
    menupopup > menuitem, menupopup > menu {
      padding-block: 1px !important;
    }
    :root {
      --arrowpanel-menuitem-padding: 1px 1px !important;
    }

    /* other bookmarks */
    #menu_unsortedBookmarks,
    #menu_mobileBookmarks,
    #bookmarksMenuItemsSeparator{
    display: none !important;
    }

    /* pretty much the same */
    /* this one also works similarly from the link I gave */
    /*  #bookmarksToolbarFolderMenu+menuseparator,           */
    /*  #menu_unsortedBookmarks {                            */
    /*   display: none !important;                           */
    /*  }

    #bookmarksMenuPopup { --panel-background: #87CEFA !important;}
    menupopup > menu[_moz-menuactive="true"],
    menupopup > menuitem[_moz-menuactive="true"],
    popup > menu[_moz-menuactive="true"],
    browsermessage,notification .notification-inner{ border-color: red !important;}
    browsermessage, notification{ --panel-background: red !important;}
    menupopup {-moz-appearance: none !important; --panel-background: #87CEFA !important }
    This is what the code does.

    Well I re-entered it, and now it works!!!! Weird.

    Thanks for your help - do you know what is wrong with this code, as it is not being used:
    /* Global UI font */
    * {font-size: 13pt !important;
    font-weight: bold !important;}

    IF you are trying to set the Menu/s font to bold. The code you show does work as shown below. Initially the font changed but all menu colours were gone, but on the third or fourth re-start of FF it did work on both the font and colours in the menus ! - I have no idea why).

    Instead of bold font-weight numbers shown here can be used also- eg.
    /* Global UI font */
    * {font-size: 13pt !important;
    font-weight: 600 !important;}
    font-weight - CSS: Cascading Style Sheets | MDN

    Thanks again, it seems ok on menus but not on tabs or the address menu.

    If this is the best I can get I am fine with it.

    Something is wrong with the way FF displays some web pages, example is below on MSN.Com The word Sponsored should be right after Offers | and as you can see its messed up.
    If I use my chrome it shows everything correctly.

    Hi,
    Looks like it was the proton thing that was messing with the ms doc's dude uses so switching one to true solved it
    Some are still different font sizes but at least the lines are straight and not offset a little
