Browsers don't connect - except old Edge

I recently made a repair install on my hardly ever used 2nd machine.
Now I notice that I can only browse the Internet via Edge, no other browser connects - they keep trying forever.
    Email program gets stuck.
Download speed can be measured via speedtest app.
I checked all network settings - no proxy selected, no change whether I use static or automatic DCHP enabled.
No change with any DNS server.
Sfc/scannow did not bring results, also flushdns.
    Ping google.com works.

Some control panel functions like check Windows Update history don't seem to connect.

    Anybody got a hint?

    Thanks!

    Windows version 18363

Something went wrong with <<repair>> and not a fan of this option. A clean install is by far a more valuable solution.

I guess you already try the network troubleshooter. You should try to delete in Device Manager the wired network driver. Restart to see if OK after. Try to change DNS servers, cloudflare or Google or anyone that you know.

Will mov to Safe Mode and delete/uninstall some stuff, Kaspersky being on the top of my list.

    Thanks

    Solved.
Uninstalled Kaspersky and all is good.
Not sure what happened with that firm, but I uninstalled it everywhere - continuous trouble.

Kaspersky software is a risk too far in my opinion. Defender is fine.
