Are all these options still working in build 19043.1055?
Are all these options still working in build 19043.1055?
I cannot tell about the other methods, Windows Update Show/Hide tool also works in v21H1, the same for O&O Windows 10 Shutup.
Who can say for sure without doing a test?
I am on 19043.1081 and options one and seven are no longer working for me. In addition AuOptions in registry seem to be ignored.
Hello Matthew,
I downloaded your zip package and ran hijackers.cmd choosing the recommended options. I have rebooted the laptop. I am not sure if the script worked or not. When I go to Windows Updates there is not any message about Windows Update being disabled and when I check for updates it runs as it normally would.
Hello @tracit99,
You doNOT
use the OS WU's.
This is how I setup myManual WUs Check
from . . .
> How to use CMD script and VBScript to control Windows Update in Windows 10
[1] I ranDisable Hijackers.cmd
.
[2] First screen: Selected(N)o
.
[3] Second screen: Selected(Y)es
.
[4] Third screen: Selected2
.
[5] I created aShortcut
on theDesktop
to =>C:\Download Folder\bin\wumt_x64.exe
- Change
C:\Download Folder\
to the actual Path.- Right-Click
Shortcut
=>Properties
=>Advanced Tab
=> checkRun as Administrator
=>OK
=>Apply
=>OK
.
When I want to check for WU's I just double-click theShortcut
, this way, it gives me the option to also check forDriver Updates
if I want to.
I hope this helps.
Thanks @Paul Black
This is how I set my laptop up and I have been using WUMT for years. I just thought there were be some indication at Windows Updates that shows Windows Updated as disabled.
There are indications that the system files for forcing updates have been disabled. For details, go to the tutorial there.
Windows Update is not disabled using Matthew's CMD & VB scripts.
As far as I know, if you manually check for updates using Windows Update, you require to run disable hijackers again.
I believe that was my experience a few months ago when I accidentally hit a link to check for updates. Automatic updates continued until I ran the script again.
@Matthew Wai will confirm or deny.
