Can't boot Windows 10 installation from USB

    Hi,

I was having problems with my Display Driver, it kept shutting down my PC, so I uninstalled
it and it didn't shut down anymore. I had to restart my PC the other day so I went into device
manager and it had installed a Microsoft Generic driver. I uninstalled that one and went to
Nvidia website to download the graphics driver I had previously. During the install I got a message
that my PC has run into a problem and restarted. It kept booting up to that message so I
decided to just do a clean install of windows 10 with my USB stick.

I made sure USB was set for first boot sequence and restarted my PC but it won't
boot to the installation, just keeps giving me the PC has run into a problem screen.

I can see the windows install in my disk drives but can't get my PC to boot to it.
So now I'm working in safe mode

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I can't boot off my USB drive to install Win 10

Hoping somebody could help me get windows back.

    Windows Version 2004 Build 19041.329
    Graphics Driver GeForce GT 620

Have you tried pressing the f12 key and selecting your startup usb drive?

    Hi,
    a. how did you create your bootable flash drive? Has it been used successfully before to boot a PC?
(The MS Media Creation tool will produce a bootable drive for 2004)

    See:
Boot from USB Drive on Windows 10 PC

Probably for your Dell like this:

    1. Restart the system and at the Dell logo, press <F12> to enter the One Time Boot Menu.
    2. Select the USB storage device to boot to the USB Flash Drive.
    3. The system will now boot to a command prompt and display C:\>

    b. are you aware there are various issues with NVidia cards with build 2004? E.g.
nVidia driver - freeze on Windows 10 startup on fresh installation

I hit F12 but it keeps going to the blue screen Your PC has run into a problem

Does not do this....goes right to blue screen error message

While in safe mode run each V2 and DM and upload results directly into this thread:

Here is the V2 log. I ran the DM collector but don't see any
log on my desktop. Where do I find the log for this ?

It says it completed and there will be a zipped file on my desktop
    but there isn't any.

There is a _zipIt script file and a temp file in the dm folder I made on my desktop
is that what you need ?

    Thank you for your reply.

Create a new one using MS's media creation tool (Google that or see tutorial on creating a bootable flash drive to install Windows 10) on a pc running the same base language and 'bitness'.

Check if another PC can boot from the bootable disk.

Find a camera or smartphone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.

    While in safe mode:
    1) See if you can boot > troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > click restart > click 2 to enable boot logging > indicate whether it creates a new BSOD

    2) reboot into safe mode > in the left lower corner type: msconfig > click boot tab > in boot options check the box: Boot log > click Apply > click OK > reboot > indicate whether it creates a new BSOD

    3) open safe mode > search for %WinDir%\ntbtlog.txt (or search for ntbtlog)
    4) in the left lower corner of safe mode type: notepad
    5) click file > click open > type %WinDir%\ntbtlog.txt (or search for ntbtlog)
    6) post a share link using one drive, drop box, or google drive
    7) In safe mode > open administrative command prompt
    9) Type: cd C:\Windows\System32\drivers
    10) Type: dir
    11) Type: ren nvhda64v.sys nvhda64v.sys.old
    12) Type: exit
    13) Reboot
    14) If it boots into normal boot > run V2
    15) Reboot into safe mode if there is another BSOD and run V2

Whenever possible take pictures to post images into the thread:
