I just recently got it working again (friend got a virus on it), so there isn't much data on it really, but how can I reset if I cant get to my desktop or anything?
I've got a windows 8 reset disc
The installation is at the very end. It just wont go through, there are no options to revert to old os or anything
No no no - if considering reverting to Win 8- if it's possible with this failed installation, then as per my previous post
1. Boot your PC from Win 10 bootable medium
2. Click repair your computer.
3. Navigate through the options as per the ttuorial I quoted for you.
Forget your Win 8 reset disk.
Your problem is going to be licensing Win 10 in trying to recover from a failed install. See below.

Ok, if there's not much on it, then I strongly recommend you do a clean install.
(I amended my previous post to give you a possible - but not certain- option to recover your old Win 8 build).
Here's how to do a clean install:

Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10 Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials
(or use a DVD)
Now, if you have a retail license for Win 8, then - during the original free upgrade period- you could do this easily:

Now, however, officially that's not possible, although you can try it.
If, however, your license came with your PC - an OEM one- then you would have had to upgrade - or buy a retail license for win 10.
Note: the tutorials include pictures. You're free to look for youtube videos if you can find something that helps you.
You have a difficult situation to deal with. A failed upgrade. I will repeat one more time instructions based on a clean install.
On that basis forget Win 8, unless perhaps you have a recovery partition and use that and then try a manual upgrade to activate Windows. That would be the only way if you have an OEM license.
However:
Licensing.
You have a significant potential problem about licensing. You have not activated Win 10, and it's outside the official period to get a free upgrade. However, some people find they can still upgrade. Whether you would be able to activate Win 10 successfully now using an existing RETAIL license I can't tell you for certain.
Again - Do you have an OEM license or a retail license? An OEM license would typically be on a sticker on the bottom of a laptop - it would have come with a bought PC. A retail license you would have paid for separately.
Whilst you may be able to install Win 10 there is no guarantee you can activate it.
Does your PC have a manufacturer's recovery partition?
Please answer the above before proceeding beyond step (1) and (2) below.
