    Can't install KB4601319 - update fails and changes are rolled back.

    One of my laptops is stuck in a failed update loop. It attempts to install KB4601319 and rolls back changes after failing. All it says is updates failed to install (or words to that effect). Then it starts over. I'll already postponed this update for as long as possible so that's not an option. If this were a full feature update I would boot it from a DVD and install that way, but I'm not sure how to proceed with this one. Any help will be appreciated.

    Edit:

    I am running Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.630) on this laptop.

    KB4601319 is for 2004 or 20H2.. your specs say Windows 10 x64 v1803 Build 17134.1.

    The forum prompted you thus:
    Can't install KB4601319 - update fails and changes are rolled back.-win-10-version.png

    Could you please clarify? Thanks.

    Download links for updates are provided in the threads per update per build in the News section.
    KB4601319 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.804 and v20H2 19042.804

    If you need to stop this being reattempted you can 'hide' an update for example (tutorial available).

    You can inspect the Windows Update logs: (tutorial)
    Read Windows Update Logs in Windows 10
    in the hope they might give you something useful.

    Thanks for pointing out that I needed to add the OS version info. I edited the original post to include it.

    Thanks. You could try

    and see if it helps.

    Hello @Victek

    Can you upload the Windows Update logs from the following path?
    C:\Windows\logs\CBS

    Copy and paste the CBS folder on your desktop, zip it and then upload it on WeTransfer and share the link here please.

    Friendly greetings

    @Victek

    Thanks for the file.

    Can you upload the other files from the CBS folder or is it empty?

    I assume that there are still cab files there.

    Please check whether the folder "C:\Windows\CbsTemp" is empty or whether there are still files there.

    Can you tell me whether you have installed another antivirus than Defender on your PC?

    @Victek

    Thanks again.

    To see which driver is not found, I need the setupapi.dev.log from the following path:

    Please upload it on wetransfer.com and share the link again.
