    Those are the log files.
Click extract all then click on log collector then on the pop up click on open.

    That worked.

    You can proceed.

    Plan to troubleshoot later.

    Yes.

Uninstall any of these non-Microsoft software:
    a) antivirus
    b) firewall
    c) drive encryption

Place the computer in clean boot:
Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts

There are options to allow or not allow updates during the in place upgrade repair.

In case there is a failure repeat with the other option.

    For any failure run setupdiag:

Well I went ahead and did it. Everything seemed to go smoothly and all my programs etc seem to be intact just fine.
I then went to windows update, and there were a few updates. It installed the first few just fine, last one was this latest update I got hung up on before - KB5000842. Now it seems to have hung up on installing it at 74%. It has been sitting there for around 10 minutes now. Ugh.

I guess I am no further along than I was... I will just leave it and see if it ever moves any further.

EDIT: I spoke too soon, it eventually did finish updating - guess it just like yanking my chain LOL.
I have all updates now! My Windows version is now showing 19042.906.

Thank you so much to all that helped me along with this!! I gotta say I had the pucker factor going on during the repair install, but it all went great!! Hopefully I will remember all this should it ever happen again down the road. I have this thread bookmarked anyhow just in case. Y'all are awesome!!!

I have an i9 9900k @ 5.2 GHz on all cores ( hyperthreading disabled) with an EVGA RTX 3090 Ultra GPU and an EVGA Z390 Dark MB. I run a Corsair H150i Pro 360 MM AIO cooler on the CPU.
I do monitor my cpu core temps always whilst gaming, hottest they tend to get is around 70c, usually run in the mid 60's.
I did a lot of stress testing after I built the rig as I was honing in on my overclock, have not stressed it lately but will take a look.

For the most part it has always been very solid. I spend about 3-5 hours a day gaming in VR with it as I am retired.
This and golf are what I do to pass my time these days. I have been building my rigs since the mid 90's.
My first overclock was with a Celeron 300a to 450 MHz LOL.

High on the list is the CPU.

This is the first of 3 different software to stress test the CPU.

Other tests may test GPU, RAM, Drive, PSU.
There are no software tests for this motherboard.
