    Version 1803 delay updates

My too small C drive will not allow updates & fouls up the start up every time it tries . Can I avoid the updates? Can I move a bunch of windows files to my D drive to make room I have moved everything I could short of Windows files

Hi, for some years there have been free programs that give you control of updates e.g.
Sledgehammer - disables WUpdate, allows Defender updates, and supports manual scan
    or see Option 7 here:
Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10
    - which also covers disabling W Update of course.

Easiest course- keep personal data off C: This strategy is also recommended when using disk imaging as is so often recommended here (e.g. Macrium Reflect - free/paid + large enough external storage for image files).

There's this - but not for the faint-hearted - and ensure you have a disk image before attempting it.

I'm assuming you have an emmc drive on the PC to which you are referring which you can't change.
Otherwise, simply get a larger drive.

What is your PC make and model?

Some have a separate drive for their programs and personal data, and just have Windows installed on the "main" drive.

Windows needs to reside on one drive.

Assuming you have already run Disk Cleanup, I think your best bet is to just purchase a bigger hard drive, and clone your current drive to the new one.

Use the Crucial scanner to determine what drives are available for your system.

A minimum of 20 GB of free space is required to install Windows, so if Disk Management shows less, you wouldn't need to run setupdiag.

Setupdiag is useful for finding and documenting problems with upgrades.

So both were requested in case there was sufficient free space in the primary partition.

There could be insufficient free space in the system reserved partition, etc.

I personally have never heard of insufficient space on the System Reserved partition.

System Reserved on my drive has been 97% free since forever.

The OP said he's running out of space on the C: drive.

    Says it couldn't update it.

Don't see where it says why.
