updates restart goes to SSD screen warning

The past 2 months updates means that on restarting, the SSD manufacturer screen comes up with warning of imminent failure. SSD is 2 years old with W10 Pro 64 bit put on as a completely new computer PC. If I press the on/off button everything reverts to normal windows on starting up. But if I ever use restart from power it reverts to the warning message. Hence can not 'restart' but must shut down. I seem to recall a similar glitch last year that affected my Avira antivirus which was never resolved. Using Bitdefender AV. I have delayed updates, but seems to have begun with the KB 453 / 2693 + 7759 + 8674 updates. I am a technonerd - so go easy please if you have any suggestions. Verging close to Linux now.

First please confirm you have all your data backed up off machine.

Then please install Crystal Disk Info Standard edition

CrystalDiskInfo – Crystal Dew World

Once installed click on "Function" tab > Advance Feature > Raw Values > 10[Dec]

This presents error values in decimal amounts.

What is the overall health status of boot disk? Are any of the categories showing a warning? Are you getting seek, write or read errors?

Have you considered removing updates and seeing if issue resolves.

Are you Imaging your machine on a regular basis?

everything is green
note no 'function' tab on downloaded version.
Things seem stable, except 'restart' still results in going to SSD manufacturer screen with the "imminent" warning. only happened after W10 updates in January and February. So hard to divorce view it is not another Microsoft release issue.
Regarding mirror image - if the oS is unstable, would a mirror copy not also be unstable if so performed?

Yes a mirror image would also be unstable but if done regularly and versions kept you could restore a version before the issues started.

Strange you don't have function tab. I use same version.

If you look at your windows update history, near the bottom of that screen is a listing of other things that were updated. Any chance your storage driver was updated?

Restart loads a "new" version of Windows where as powering off and on use information stored on the last shutdown to speed up the load.

This sounds driver related. Any of your drivers reporting issues? When did the feature update 1909 get installed on this device.

So 'pass' with Intel SSD toolbox and crystal disk 8 and driver check, hence issue must be post-update Microsoft issue. In Conan-Doyle terms of Sherlock Holmes - "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth? "

Interest that Crystal Disk is given all clear.

Above is a snapshot of an old SSD I use. You will notice no reallocated sectors, no uncorrectable sector counts and comperable "Host Writes"

You have several categories reporting errors, one...

Might also look at Ultra DMA CRC Error Rate as to causes and solutions.

I acknowledge that this would seem strange to only happen on restarts. If you shut off Fast Startup my bet is it would show there.

In any event I would ensure data is backed up.

Any chance this drive is still under warranty?

Any chance you could increase airflow around drive?

Repair Corrupted SSD/HDD without Losing Data – EaseUS
Run CHKDSK to Fix File System Error

Press "Win + R" to open the "Run" dialog.
Type: cmd and hit Enter to open "Command Prompt".
Click "Run as administrator" and log in as Administrator.
Type: chkdsk C: /f /r /x in Command Prompt and hit Enter.
