    Windows update fail Error 0x80070015

I have tried multiple fixes to get my Windows 10 to update. Keep receiving error message stating

"You're currently running a version of Windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements"

I have tried many fixes, none with any luck. One thing I did notice was when I attempted to "Rename CBS.Log file", there was no file listed. I don't know if there's a deeper problem there but that might be a clue.

Any recommendations anyone has are very appreciated. The system hasn't ran correctly for months now. Very slow and jerky computer action, with pages taking forever to load and pages randomly shutting down or stop processing. I just ran another Malware scan to doublecheck and there were no problems found.

    Thank you in advance!!

    TechBench by WZT (v4.1.1)

    3) Create another bootable windows 10 iso for Windows 1903.

    16) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    17) Open the website for the computer or motherboard manufacturer > support > enter the product or serial number or model > select the operating system > view drivers > post a URL or hyperlink into the thread

    18) Run through this upgrade troubleshooting check list:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/41804-perform-clean-boot-windows-10-troubleshoot-software-conflicts.html

    12) Detach all SATA devices other than the disk drive that has the Windows operating system
(Make sure that the only disk drive that is attached to the computer at the time of the upgrade attempt is the disk drive containing Windows)
(Other disk drives may be able to be detached by disconnecting cables or if necessary to remove the drive from the computer)

    13) Make sure that there is no metered connection: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17452/windows-metered-internet-connections-faq

    19) After completing the upgrade check list perform an in place upgrade repair with the identical version while in clean boot.

    20) If the in place upgrade repair is successful for the same version then perform an in place upgrade repair with windows10 1903 while in clean boot.

    21) For any in place upgrade repair failures using a bootable windows 10 iso run setupdiag > post share links into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive:

Hi @Slizard and welcome to tenforums,

If I understand you are trying to upgrade your Windows 10 version. First, what is your actual version and what version are you attempting to upgrade to?

the 0x80070015 means that your device is not ready. be aware that the latest windows 10 version 1903 will not be available for all devices, especially old ones.

For more details on the error, we need these logs files:
    • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log
    • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\miglog.xml
    • C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\panther\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
    • C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\panther\setupapi\setupapi.app.log
    • C:\Windows\memory.dmp
    • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.log
    • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.err

    Other recommendations:
if your system is unstable, try to do an in-place upgrade first to correct any broken config. for more information see this tutorial: Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

check your disk health. a dying HDD can make your system slow.
