Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16188 PC and 15210 Mobile Insider

The only problem is the possibility of human error in mixing up Windows system programs between the 2 OS's and possibly destroying the Windows Bootloader. This once happened to me but it was back in the days of Windows 2000 and Windows 98.

Did you get this sorted out? If not, go to a CMD while booted in the OS of choice and do a command like this. Do it to each OS while booted in it. When Boot Manager sees identical bcddata, it reverts to showing the same name (default Windows 10) with a partition ID. You can check the results real quick with MSCONFIG. Next time you boot, the menu will look right. Call them anything you want.

Examples:


bcdedit /set {current} description "Windows 7 (Partition 2)" <---- enter your choice

bcdedit /set {current} description "Windows 10 Insider"

bcdedit /set {current} description "Windows 10 RTM"
