Hmmm. Download took three minutes on a 200 mbps line. First pass of installation took five minutes to get to 100%. Installation started again at 0% and ran for over two hours before getting to a reboot. Windows Installer sucked 15-25% of the CPU and 100% of the system drive during the entire period. Installing % stopped at 21%, 45%, and 74% for extended periods of time. No other apps running at the time.

i feel your pain, thats just a normal update experience for me then hours doing cleanups afterwards, i've always said i'd rather have root canal with no anesthetic.

Autonomically WU downloaded, installed and reboot my computer in the exactly moment that the automated full backup was running (macrium), not happy.

I had an issue with this update last night, DL through WU, installed, all seemed fine, went to do the reboot (0-30%) then restart didn't get to 0-100% part, just bluesceen, restarted, again blue screen.
Did that three times to repair options, did startup repair, nada same thing. Last i try restore point I had of yesterday and that worked fine.
Now I just had to go through process of removing the remains of the failed update, ran DISM and SFC, then deleted windows/SoftwareDistribution folder content.
All fine now, back were I was, I didn't trust WU so I DL/installed the MSU file in link and all seems ok.
