user profile service service failed the sign-in
Hello.
I have Windows 10 on my computer with 4 accounts, none of which I can log in with.
When I try logging in to any of them, it gives an error.
''User profile service failed the sign-in''. (The safemode boot option gives this error as well.)
So far, I have used my Ubuntu bootable USB stick to see if I can still access all my account files. Yes, they are all there.
(And I can change read/write permission.)
The only thing I did prior to this issue was changing a UAC setting for one program in taskmanager and
changing the processor affinity to 0 checked , which was a game.exe. After that, this problem started occurring.
Is there anything I can do through the Ubuntu USB to restart the user profile service or somehow use the CMD?
to fix something?
I know this is a weird combination of Windows & Ubuntu, So I hope that the forum topic is correct.
I'd rather fix this without reinstalling Windows.
I don't know my Windows version number, just that it's Windows 10 and 64-bit.
Thanks, James

What I am thinking about is, if I can somehow try to add a New User manually in Users folder through ubuntu.
And see if it shows up on the sign in window as a 5th account so I can perhaps reset the User profile service in services.msc?
But I am not entirely sure how to make it show up.
