You're most welcome. :)
I just registered to thank you. So, here it is: thanks a lot!
Hello Brink,
Windows 10 Pro 1607 build 14393.321
Sorry to report I'm having a problem.
I created a system restore point, and installed Add_Take_Ownership_with_Pause_to_context_menu.reg
First, do I understand correctly that these types of install errors are harmless?

But here's the main problem. After I installed the reg file, it looked like everything was fine. I went ahead and took ownership of several folders, no problem. I tested them and received no denied access incidents.
I then went to create a restore point using one of the 3 vbscripts I use (I believe at least a few of them came from your tutorial). Instead of doing their jobs, all of them yielded this result instead

During that time I also tried to run Winaero. It would not load.
I didn't bother to find out what else might have been affected. I did a system restore the conventional way, and everything returned to normal.
I tried it again, same result.
Then I tried it with Add_Take_Ownership_to_context_menu.reg. Same problem.
From what I see, it is the installation of the reg file that immediately causes the problem, not anything to do with taking ownership itself.
I also tried Remove_Take_Ownership_from_context_menu.reg, but it did not reverse the problem. Dunno, Maybe I needed to reboot for it to take effect, but I just did a system restore. I then found instructions to take ownership manually. No residual problems with that, but I'd still like to have a working context menu entry for the future.
Hello kitpzyxmsir, :)
I'm not sure how these issues could be related.
How are you merging the .reg file?
Are you double clicking on it like in the steps, or trying to merge it via some 3rd party regedit program?
Are you using the latest .vbs scripts for creating "instant" restore points from the tutorial below? They have updated lately to work again in Windows 10, so you might download a new copy to be sure.

Is there something special with this script? I always put restore Points myself?Brink;849723

Good catch! You were correct. I assume you saw I was using O&O reg editor. I never had a problem with it before, but using that as my default reg editor, double clicking imports thru it and caused the problem. I have disposed of it.
Scripts are fine, as well as the context menu entry.
thanks
