Is it possible to get 2004 cortana reinstalled via powershell with this method?
Hi,
Another user, another issue reinstalling and re-registering apps.
Last week I upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and RAM, and did a clean - CLEAN - install of Windows to mark the occasion. It's running fine except I don't have a lot of the default apps installed - from the calculator and XBox Game Bar to the Microsoft Store. Worse still, I can't even download items through the store in-browser; clicking the Get button does nothing.
Specs:
OS:
Windows 10
CPU:
AMD 5600X
Motherboard:
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (WI-FI) (AM4)
Memory:
32.0GB Dual-Channel @ 1799MHz (24-24-24-58)
Graphics Card(s):
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER
I've tried the Power Shell method with
Get-AppxPackage -allusers | foreach {Add-AppxPackage -register "$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode}
with no success. See screenshot below (with the initial command showing the apps that ARE installed). I'm posting this after just trying the in-place upgrade which successfully completed but did not solve the problem.
Any help would be appreciated. I'd rather not have to do ANOTHER clean install but I'm ready to do it.
Thanks in advance!
Hello @zackstone, and welcome to Ten Forums.
It's normal to get those type of errors when trying to re-register something currently in use (open/running).
Since you are only trying to reinstall the Calculator and XBox Game Bar apps, you might see if you may be able to uninstall first and reinstall afterwards.
Hey Brink! So two things, One, I'm trying to reinstall microsoft store because it just says ms-resource:StoreTitle but I don't know how. I am also trying to get rid of the error that says "You'll need a new app to open this ms-gamingoverlay link" You think you can help me?

Hello Doon, and welcome to Ten Forums.
Usually if the Microsoft Store app has been uninstalled, it'll take at least a repair install of Windows 10 below to restore it.
