That's the link I found! My info looks just like what is in the Local Account picture in that link.
What I'm not understanding is exactly what I need to do to get my product key activated to my Microsoft account from this Web site/tutorial: Link Microsoft Account to Windows 10 Digital License

If I want to do: Option One: Link Microsoft Account to Digital License without Switching Local Account to Microsoft Account.
It's asking me to add an account and further down under "Add your Microsoft account" it's asking me to sign in with my Microsoft account, and I don't have one-just the local account. So I am quite confused here as to how to proceed.
I was able to add my Comcast email address to the Add an Account but I don't get what to do next. Under the Add an Account, I selected Other to add my Comcast email address, but I don't get any other windows like I see in that link I posted above, like where it says "Add you Microsoft Account".
So like I said, sadly, I'm confused as to what I need to do next to get my product key linked to a Microsoft account if I keep my Local Account as is.

It's required to have a Microsoft account to be able to link your digital license to it.

If you don't already have a Microsoft account, you would need to create one. Usually, you would just need to follow all the on-screen instructions to create a Microsoft account with your email address.

If you do have a Microsoft account, then it's a decision of if you want to sign in to Windows 10 with your Microsoft account or the current local account.

Option 1 to keep signing in to Windows 10 with your local account after linking the license to your Microsoft account.

Option 2 to sign in to Windows 10 with your Microsoft account by switching your local account to the Microsoft account, and have the license linked.

I don't know what the @Ell is going on but I'm getting real frustrated with Windows 10 and this whole trying to get my product key activated with a Microsoft account so my key is saved online with them.....or whatever you want to call it.
I created an account online at account.microsoft.com. I can sign in just fine there but when I try to sign in through the Settings, Activation, Add a Microsoft account, Add an account in Windows 10, I enter my username (email address), I enter my password once, then it has a window that mentions Sign into this computer using your Microsoft account and telling me they need my password one more time and I enter it, it's telling me that "The password you entered for your device is incorrect. Please try again" with a next button that does nothing until I enter a correct password, which I am doing.
The reason I'm adding a Microsoft account in Windows 10 is to have my "Windows account activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account".
Right now in Activation, it only says "Windows is activated with a digital license".
I'd like to get this fixed before I do a clean full install of Windows 10.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

EDIT: OK, I need to apologize for ranting. I went back and followed the instructions in the link for Linking my Microsoft account to Windows 10 digital license.
When I entered the username and password, I was successful.
I didn't think clicking on the Outlook.com was the correct thing to do because I didn't have any of those choices: Outlook.com, Live.com. Hotmail, etc.. listed (as in having one of those already) and I wanted to keep my email address linked to Microsoft, if at all possible, so I scrolled to the bottom of that window and selected "Other account" and proceeded from there.

So in the end, I selected the Outlook.com selection and it then asked for my username and then password and it all went through OK.
Is it just me or does anyone else think Microsoft goes too far with some things.....??
    Sigh!!!

Yes Brink, it is good news.
So when I do the clean install of Windows 10 Pro, can I still sign in as a local account during the installation even though I have a Microsoft account? Will signing in as a local account still activate my product key once the installation is done?

I don't like the thought of having my computer connected to the cloud if I sign into my Microsoft account during the set up....

Using the same Microsoft account will make it easy to do, but you can try to enter W7 key during the W10 installation to activate.

Otherwise, you can skip entering the key, and use the Activation troubleshooter to activate afterwards.

Use Activation Troubleshooter in Windows 10

The digital licence held on Microsoft's activation servers is linked to the unique hardware ID of the PC. On a clean install the hardware ID is sent to the activation servers and if it matches a digital licence for the edition installed then it will activate. This hardware ID is a hash derived from various parts of your system, in particular the motherboard, but NOT the hard drive. That can freely be changed (eg. replace an HDD with an SSD) and retain activation.

Linking a digital licence to your MS account is entirely optional. It is the hardware ID that is the primary means of identification for activation purposes. Linking to an MS account allows you to use the activation troubleshooter after a significant hardware change such as a motherboard replacement.

I do not use an MS account on any of my machines, they are all local accounts. A clean install has always activated.

I think this is exactly what I want to hear.
So during my clean installation of Windows 10, now that I have linked my key to Microsoft, I can skip the part where it asks for my product key during the install and after the installation is done, my Windows 10 will be activated, if I use local account.
    Correct??

Correct. And that applies whether or not you have linked to your MS account.

I completed the upgrade on both of my workstations. Initially, I linked the digital license to my MS account on one machine and found it was using approx 30% of CPU. Let it sit for a few hours and no change so I reverted back to a local account. On the second workstation I didn't bother trying to link to my MS account. Other issues I encountered were:
    1. Network-with no Homegroup it is a bit of a shambles with one computer seeing the other on select days and vice versa. There are 3 workstations plus 1 laptop.
    2. Black screen-one multi screen workstation goes into black screen at every alternate startup. Tried reinstalling GPU and mouse/keyboard drivers.
