    Bose Speakers Stopped Working

WIN10, current update completed this morning.

Got to work yesterday and my Bose (wired to desktop) speakers stopped working.
They are getting power for sure because if I touch the wires, loud sounds come form them.
Under Settings, I don't see Bose available for choosing. Are they supposed to appear there?

    Thanks.

Check to see if they are connected. Try them with another computer.

Thanks, they are connected, and were connected when they stopped.

    My question is this.
Shouldn't I see the word Bose appear somewhere under Audio so I may select them?

If so, why did the computer lose them?

Your latest post says "Audio". Is this what you're mentioning? If not, then try this:
Is your Bose Speakers listed here?

If so, select it, and try playing audio.

If you're using the 3.5mm green jack on the rear of the comp... sometime they get "sprung".
Pull the wire out, then put it back in, and wiggle it a tad in and out.

If you have some music playing and you hear it... then it's probably just a sprung, connector.
Sometimes, if you find the sweet spot where it works... you can stick something like a paper match in there.
It may be enough to hold it.

It's interesting that when people show screenshots, my computer never looks anything like them.

    Hate this WIN10.......

Edit: Why are two different posts on the same post???

    Hi, Pugsy.

Just a guess, but you may have inadvertently clicked the 'multi-quote' icon, just to the right of 'Quote'.

Anyway, I'm glad you found the solution to your speaker issue.

    Have a nice Friday.

    Hi pugsy,

I'm glad that Ghot suggested that idea, and that was the actual fix, instead of all of us trying to get into the computer settings and not going anywhere. Thanks Ghot for your suggestion for pugsy; glad it was as easy as that.

And pugsy, regarding your question wondering why two different posts you posted got combined into one:
It's a feature on this website, that if you make one post, and then you create a new post within a very short time of your previous post, (while no one else has made a new post after that post), then that post gets "updated" and your newest post gets combined with your previous post, separated with this word (in the orange box, in the picture attached):

    Bose Speakers Stopped Working-image.png

It's just a feature on this website.

Suppose that you make a post, and then a few hours later, you decide to make a new post on the same thread, (while no one else has responded to your previous post), then your second post will show as a different post.

I don't know the exact timing between the feature that combines both, but it's within a few minutes or something.

The forum Admin, Brink, knows more about that. If he comes across this, maybe he can leave a reply with the timing. =)
